The streaming giant has picked up the animated comedy for three more seasons, which means the Brutus Pink series will run at least through to season 6. According to Variety, the renewal is part of Netflix’s deal with the animation company helmed by Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett. The three are also the creators of Big Mouth. 

“Netflix has given us the best creative experience imaginable, and we’ve been able to build an amazing community of talented writers, actors, producers and artists,” said Kroll, Goldberg, Levin, and Flackett in a joint statement. “We’re thrilled to be continuing with everyone for years to come.”

“Big Mouth brilliantly captures the most awkward phase in a person’s life, puberty, in a hilarious yet heartwarming way,” said Mike Moon, head of adult animation for Netflix. “We couldn’t be more excited to continue our relationship with Brutus Pink and bring more stories, more humor, and more hormones to Netflix members around the world.”

Big Mouth is inspired by Kroll and Goldberg’s childhood and follows the misadventures of middle-schoolers and their monster hormones.

This unconventional cartoon follows a group of teens as they navigate their way through the wonders and horrors of puberty. It features the vocal talents of John Mulaney, Maya Rudolph, Jenny Slate, Jordan Peele and show’s co-creator Nick Kroll.

the first season of Big Mouth came out back in 2017, and the show quickly earned small, but passionate fan following. Masterminds behind it have proven they’re still on the top of their game with Season 2, which received critical acclaim.

Even before Netflix announced their decisions, co-creator Andrew Goldberg expressed his hope they’ll be able to bring the show back, since there’s so much left to explore.

“We still have a whole whiteboard with different topics about puberty that we want to get to. Puberty is a dramatic point of life where everything is in such flux and everything seems like the most important thing in the world,” said Goldberg.
