]]>The news was announced by Chris McCarthy, the Paramount Global executive who took control of Showtime last year. After witnessing the success of the franchise model with Yellowstone, McCarthy is trying to embrace a similar approach with several Showtime series, starting with Billions.
McCarthy discussed his plans in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal and confirmed they have four potential spinoffs on the way. They’ll draw inspiration from the original series, set in the world of hedge funds, but it’s unclear if they’ll bring any of the characters back.
Billions: Miami, will take us to the world of private aviation, where pilots and staff have to deal with rich clients who believe that the rules of society don’t apply to them. Billions: London will be set across the pond and focus on the world of UK finance.
Koppelman and Levien are also plotting two more spinoffs—Millions, a series about young financial mogul wannabes paving their way in Manhattan, and Trillions, which focuses on the world’s richest people scattered around the world, yet constantly coming into conflict with one another.
