The Scandal alum has finally booked his next gig after playing President Fitzgerald Grant on ABC’s political drama and is set to play a lead role in Netflix’s upcoming new series. 

The hourlong supernatural drama marks a big change for Goldwyn but will reunite him with Scandal executive producer Stephen Gaghan. The series landed a 10-episode straight-to-series order by the streaming giant in January. 

Goldwyn will play Ben Lefevre, Thurman’s on-screen husband, and the father of heart donor Becky. He is charming and warm, a businessman who also hides a mystical inclination that knows no bounds. After the death of his daughter, Ben becomes even more devoted to the cause of a new age spiritual center. Thurman stars as Nancy Becky’s mother, who embarks on a relationship with the recipient of her daughter’s heart.

Executive producing via Super Emotional alongside Gaghan is Leah Rachel, creator and screenwriter. Rachel also co-showruns with Akela Cooper. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is set to direct the pilot.

The young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. But uncovering the truth of her donor’s sudden death also includes taking on the characteristics of the deceased.

The new hourlong drama was created and written by Stephen Gaghan and Super Deluxe. The series landed a 10-episode straight-to-series order by the streaming giant in January.
