Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, announced the news in a press release and said the platform is proud to “share the electricity and excitement of the festival” with Netflix subscribers around the world.

“It’s our honor to transform LA for one week into the funniest place on. This festival is a unique celebration of the art of comedy, and the role it plays in reflecting our lives and defining culture,” said Sarandos in a statement.

Netflix is a Joke Fest will feature appearances from some of the biggest comedy legends, including Kevin Hart, Ali Wong, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, Jamie Foxx, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin. It will take place between April 27th and May 3rd, at various venues across Los Angeles.

Multiple outlets confirm that Dave Chappelle is heading to the stage — Dave Chapelle Live on Broadway will show at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for five shows from July 9 through July 13.

The 5-show limited residency was announced Wednesday by producers Live Nation, The Araca Group and EBG. Tickets for the shows are scheduled to go on sale June 14 and are expected to sell out immediately as the comic’s stand-up shows also typically sell out quickly.

Chappelle joins others who have used the Lunt-Fontanne as the site of their week-long residencies. Upcoming stints include Mel Brooks (June 17-18), singer-songwriter Regina Spektor (June 20-26), illusionist Criss Angel (July 2-7), Beatles tribute by Rain (July 16-21), and Barry Manilow (July 26-Aug. 17).

The comedian is also the recipient of this year’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Chappelle will accept his prize on October 27 at the John F. Kennedy Center. The president of this institution Deborah F. Rutter was the one who announced the news and described him as “embodiment of Mark Twain’s observation that ‘against the assault of humor, nothing can stand.’”

“For three decades, Dave has challenged us to see hot-button issues from his entirely original yet relatable perspective. Dave is a hometown hero here in Washington, D.C., where he grew up. We’re so looking forward to welcoming him back home,” said Rutter in a press release.

Mark Twain Prize for American Humor is presented to individuals who had an impact on American society in ways similar to distinguished writer of the great American novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Richard Pryor was the first person to ever receive this prize in 1998, while the list of recent honorees includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Letterman and Bill Murray.

Newlyweds started dating back in 2013, but a chain of tweets that Chance recently posted revealed they actually go way, way back. Corley caught his eye during one of his mom’s office parties, but he was too shy to introduce himself.

The couple’s lavish wedding took place at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California and many of his celebrity friends attended the ceremony. Kanye West, Dave Chappelle, and Kirk Franklin were among those who couldn’t say no to the invitation.

Netflix announced on Twitter that Dave Chappelle’s latest stand-up special, titled Dave Chapelle: Equanimity, will begin streaming on the very last day of 2017. This makes for the comedian’s third special for the streaming service.

If viewership of the first two specials are anything to go by, this third installment should be a sensation. Earlier this year, Netflix gave a rare insight into the viewership of Chappelle’s stand-up specials stating that “The triumphant return of a comedy legend in Dave Chappelle: Collection 1 was our most viewed comedy special ever.” The first two specials generated quite a buzz as well as controversy upon their release and yet it seems that Netflix is committed to exploring the stand-up comedy genre.

Not only were fans given a release date, Netflix also unveiled a teaser  for the 3rd special, featuring Chappelle and Stranger Things’ fan favorite, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
