]]>According to its official synopsis, Last Night in Soho centers on a young aspiring fashion designer, Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie), who is mysteriously transported to 1960s London. She takes over the body of a dazzling wannabe singer Sandy (Anya Taylor-Joy) before past and present start colliding with shady and horrifying consequences.
McKenzie got her breakthrough with the leading role in Debra Granik’s Leave No Trace, and went to appear in Jojo Rabbit and The King. Taylor-Joy is best known for her role in The Queen’s Gambit, but her credits also include The Witch, Split, The New Mutants, and Emma.
Last Night in Soho serves as the follow-up to Edgar Wright’s critically acclaimed action flick Baby Driver, which came out in 2017. In addition to McKenzie and Taylor-Joy, it’s also set to star Matt Smith, Diana Rigg, Rita Tushingham, and Terence Stamp. After several major delays, the film is scheduled to premiere on October 22nd.

]]>In a recent interview with Empire, Wright confirmed that he has the first draft for the sequel adding that it takes the story further.
“A first draft of Baby Driver 2 exists,” said the 44-year-old filmmaker before explaining that the movie will introduce new characters and expand the existing world set up by the first film. And, don’t worry; Ansel Elgort will be back as Baby once again.
Edgar Wright also talked about some of his other projects, revealing that he is currently working on a psychological horror film inspired by Nicolas Roeg’s 1973 thriller Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s acclaimed movie from 1965, Repulsion. While Wright didn’t offer many details about the film, he did reveal that the shooting is scheduled to start in the summer and that it will have a female lead.
“I realized I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” he explained. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead, you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
