Everything Everywhere All at Once came into the Oscars with 11 nominations, and it managed to live up to the hype. The mind-bending sci-fi dramedy was the biggest winner of the night at this year’s Academy Awards with seven wins, including best picture.

Everything Everywhere defeated the likes of The Banshees of Inisherin, Tár, and The Fabelmans to be named the best picture winner at the Oscars. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert picked up two more awards by each other’s side—best directing and best original screenplay.

On the acting front, it was a big night for Michelle Yeoh, who made history as the first Asian actress to win best actress. Her co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis also won big in their respective categories, while Brendan Fraser collected the Oscar for best actor for The Whale.

The mastermind behind Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front also had a reason to celebrate on Sunday night. In addition to being named the best international feature film, this anti-war epic also came out victorious in three technical categories—best original score, production design, and cinematography.

The 95th Academy Awards took place on March 12 at LA’s Dolby Theatre, with Jimmy Kimmel returning as a host for the third time.

Everything Everywhere All at Once has been dominating this year’s awards season from the very start, and it’s showing no signs of stopping. Just one week ahead of the Oscars, this sci-fi dramedy made history at the Independent Spirit Awards, winning seven awards.

Everything Everywhere defeated Bones & All, Women Talking, Tár, and Our Father, the Devil to win the night’s biggest award—best feature—but that was only one of its many achievements. With a total of seven trophies, it became the most-awarded film in the ceremony’s history.

Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu all picked up awards for their respective performances, while Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert won two awards for writing and directing the film. Paul Rogers brought its total to seven trophies, with the win for best editing.

When it comes to the television side of the aisle, The Bear dominated the night with two awards. It won the trophy for the best new scripted series, while its star Ayo Edebiri was named the best supporting performer in a new scripted series. Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, The Rehearsal, and Pachinko were also among the winners.

The 38th Independent Spirit Awards were held on March 4 at the Santa Monica Pier, California, with Hasan Minhaj hosting the show, which was streamed live on YouTube.

The 2023 SAG Awards will take place on February 26 and the ceremony will be streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel after the Screen Actor Guild struck an exclusive multi-year deal with the streamer.

Netflix’s head of global TV Bela Bajaria said they’re excited that more fans around the world will be able to celebrate these talented actors thanks to this partnership.

This year’s awards season is entering its most exciting stage, and another major ceremony named their winners on Sunday night. Everything Everywhere All at Once picked up five trophies at this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards, while Better Call Saul was the biggest winner in the television field with three.

Everything Everywhere came into the ceremony with record 14 nominations and managed to take five trophies home. It defeated the likes of The Banshees of Inisherin, The Fabelmans, and Avatar: The Way of Water to win the night’s top award: best picture.

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert won two awards for directing and writing this project. Ke Huy Quan cemented his status as the Oscar front-runner by winning another award for best supporting actor, while Paul Rogers was named best editor.

Better Call Saul dominated the TV categories with a total of three wins – drama series, best actor in a drama series (Bob Odenkirk), and best supporting actor in a drama series (Giancarlo Esposito). Abbott Elementary, The Dropout, and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story came in second with two awards each.

Awards season is close to reaching its peak and another major ceremony just announced its list of nominees. The SAG Awards nominations are in and The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All at Once are leading the way with five nods each.

The Banshees and Everything Everywhere have both been nominated in the ceremony’s main category: outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture – along with Babylon, The Fabelmans, and Women Talking.

The TV field is equally competitive and Ozark is leading the way with a total of four nominations, followed by Better Call Saul, Barry, and Only Murders in the Building with three nods each.

“As we begin to explore live streaming on Netflix, we look forward to partnering with SAG-AFTRA to elevate and expand this special ceremony as a global live event in 2024 and the years to come,” said Bajaria in a statement.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the movies that 2022 will be remembered by and the Gotham Awards voters love it as much as the rest of us. The Gotham Awards were handed out on Monday night and this mind-bending sci-fi flick was the biggest winner of the night.

Everything Everywhere All at Once defeated the likes of Aftersun, The Cathedral, Dos Estaciones, and Tár to win the ceremony’s top award: best feature. Ke Huy Quan also won the award for outstanding supporting performance, but his co-star Michelle Yeoh ended up losing to Danielle Deadwyler in Till.

This isn’t the first major award that Everything Everywhere All at Once picked up, and it probably won’t be the last. It’s the most nominated movie at the upcoming Independent Spirit Awards with a total of eight nods, including best feature, best director, and several acting awards.

The list of winners at this year’s Gotham Awards also included the best documentary feature All That Breathes and the best international feature Happening. Awards were given to several new TV shows, including Pachinko for a breakthrough long-form series and Mo for breakthrough short-form series. Adam Sandler and Michelle Williams received performer tributes, while the cast of Fire Island was honored with ensemble tribute.
