Like the show’s name suggest, this series takes us back to the early years of the 20th century “when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.”

The prequel series centers on Jacob Dutton, the patriarch of the Yellowstone ranch, and his wife Cara, as they try to take care of their Montana estate during one of the most trying times in American history.

In addition to Ford and Mirren, 1923 will also star Jerome Flynn, Jennifer Ehle, Timothy Dalton, Sebastian Roché, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, and James Badge Dale. It’s the second prequel to Yellowstone, following the success of 1883, starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott.

1923 will premiere on Paramount+ on December 18, following the latest episode of Yellowstone. The streamer already ordered two seasons of the series, featuring eight episodes each. Another spin-off titled 6666 is set to premiere next year and it’s taking place on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas.

News that the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, set to take place on February 27, 2020, will honor the Oscar-winning British with the honorary award was announced by the festival on Wednesday. 

“Helen Mirren is a strong personality whose powerful portrayals are always impressive. She surprises us time and again with her interpretation of complex characters -– whether it’s Chris in Calendar Girls or Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, her portrayals are a paradigm of strong women, and it is our great pleasure to award her the Honorary Golden Bear for her lifetime achievement,” said Mariette Rissenbeek, the Berlinale’s new executive director.

The ceremony will include a screening of The Queen.

The duo had a blast on the catwalk and looked absolutely gorgeous. Mirren strutted in a trench coat and wide patterned pants accessorizing with black shoes and a cane, while Fonda was clad in a full-length tiger stripe gown with a diamond necklace topping off the look.

In 2014, the then 69-year-old Mirren became a L’Oreal beauty ambassador. “It was about bloody time!” Mirren said of the choice. “I thought, at last there has been a shift [in the fashion industry] – I’m talking about age and beauty, but also diversity.”

The two totally ruled the runway. Mirren looked stunning capping her walk with a fierce pose. Fonda on the other hand had lots of fun when she spotted someone she knew in the crowd and gave them a big wave. The Grace and Frankie star also recently spoke with ET saying that she’s “about as happy as [she’s] ever been,” working hard to accomplish all that she did and staying healthy.

In The Fate of the Furious, Mirren played Magdalene Shaw, the matriarch of the villainous Shaw clan, including Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) and Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). The actress told reporters at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, that “[she] would love to come back. But guys, I want to drive next time.”

Mirren is a huge fan of the franchise. Earlier this year she told Buzzed that she practically begged to be included in one of the films. “They very kindly wrote me in and that was really sweet of them and I love those guys, they’re fantastic.”

Mirren told EW that she thinks that the familial aspect of the Fast & Furious films is one of the reasons the films have become so popular, an aspect she’s always loved.

“I think that’s one of the reasons they’re popular films, because that is the one element that everybody all over the world can identify with simply, easily, and directly, so it’s great to see this other level being brought in with the different generations of the family, the fact that family actually goes on through many generations over long periods of time.”
