A day later, the 34-year-old actress went on to post a photo of their red carpet photo shoot with a caption: “Most partial to this talented nominee.”

On Monday, more photos of the happy couple followed.

After the 76th Golden Globe Awards ceremony, Jim Carrey talked to Extra about his new girlfriend, saying that Gonzaga is “incredible, unbelievable, wicked talent and amazing person.”

“Not bad for a first date!” he added. “I just want first base tonight, I’m not looking to take the field.”

The relationship between Jim Carrey and Ginger Gonzaga is one of those situations when real-life imitates art as their characters, Jeff and Vivian, are also dating in Showtime’s comedy-drama Kidding.

Prior to Gonzaga, Carrey wasn’t romantically linked with another woman since his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White died in 2015. The actor was previously married to actress Melissa Womer, with whom he has daughter Jane, and Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly. He also dated Renée Zellweger and Jenny McCarthy in the past.

The show was based on the non-fiction book of the same name by William Knoedelseder and followed a fictionalized group of stand up comedians in LA in the ‘70s. Among its executive producer was funny man Jim Carrey but that didn’t save the show from being canceled. The network confirmed the news Friday evening. 

Starring in the show were Oscar winner Melissa Leo, who played the comedy club owner, Ari Graynor, Clark Duke, Michael Angarano, RJ Cyler, Andrew Santino, Erik Griffin, Al Madrigal, and Jake Lacy. Jon Daly, Nicole Ari Parker, Xosha Roquemore, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Brad Garrett starred in recurring roles in Season 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show was never ratings hit, with Season 1 averaging fewer than 150,000 viewers, making it one of the network’s lowest-rated series. Season 2 boasted higher numbers after being paired with the higher-rated Billions but is still only averaged 180,000 viewers.

Carrey will continue doing business with Showtime starring and serving as exec producer on the new series Kidding.

The show will reunite 55-year-old Carrey with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director and Oscar winner Michel Gondry, as the half-hour episodes will explore the tumultuous family life of a children’s TV host.

Carrey is already working with Showtime. He is currently the executive producer for the recently renewed series I’m Dying Up Here, which is set in the ’70s Los Angeles comedy scene and explores on the pressures comedians face to put on a good performance – struggles that a comic like Carrey know all too well.

The premiere date has yet to be annoyed, however, it has been reported that a ten episode order by the network has been made.
