Amsterdam centers on “three close friends who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history” and its official logline describes it as “a fascinating and richly intricate tale that brilliantly weaves historical fact with fiction.”

The first trailer reveals that the characters in question are played by Bale, Robbie, and Washington and that they met during their army days. They made a pact to protect each other no matter what, but their alliance will soon be tested when they’re accused of murder in the Dutch capital.

The trailer also introduces us to some of the film’s other A-list stars. The cast also includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, Taylor Swift, Zoe Saldaña, Rami Malek, and Robert De Niro.

Amsterdam is David O. Russell’s first directorial effort since 2015. It will be released by 20th Century Fox on November 4, but it’s unclear if it will hit the film festival circuit before its theatrical premiere date.

Malcolm & Marie reunites Zendaya with the Euphoria showrunner Sam Levinson, who wrote the script during the COVID-19 lockdown and filmed it under safety protocols with a small cast and crew. Several major studios expressed interest in the project, but Netflix managed to outbid them all and acquired distribution rights for $30 million.

“We felt privileged to be able to make this film together and we did so with a lot of love. We are all thrilled that it has ended up with Netflix which is unparalleled in allowing filmmakers the freedom to tell their stories that reach audiences all over the world,” said Levinson in an official statement.

Before premiering on Netflix on February 5th, Malcolm & Marie will be shown in selected theaters later this month.
