The series is a take on the 1993 Harrison Ford film which was based on a 1960s TV series. The Fugitive follows Mike Ferro (Holbrook) who after a bomb strikes the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding with his wife and 10-year-old daughter tries looking out for the safety of his family when he finds out that the evidence and social media are pointing to him as the prime suspect. Ferro has to prove his innocence to the cop in charge of the investigation, Detective Clay Bryce (Sutherland).

Sutherland says in the teaser that Ferro is “the one and only suspect” who “is to be shot on site.”

Scorpion’s creator Nick Santora, Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk, 3 Arts’ Tom Lassally, and Albert Torres are executive producing. Also executive producing and directing is Stephen Hopkins.

Netflix bosses broke the news in an official statement and thanked everyone involved in the creation of this show for making it what it was.

“We are proud to have offered fans a third season of Designated Survivor and will continue to carry all three seasons for years to come. We’re especially thankful to star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who brought passion, dedication and an unforgettable performance as President Kirkman,” reads the statement by Netflix.

Designated Survivor premiered in 2016 at ABC and centered on a low-ranking Cabinet member Thomas Kirkman, who becomes President of the United States after everyone ahead of him in the presidential line of succession dies in a catastrophic attack.

In addition to Sutherland, this political drama also starred Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, Kal Penn, and Maggie Q.

The 56-year-old actor and made a surprising move, joining the social network Friday afternoon.

Fox announced the news to his followers via his Twitter account, with a very simple message, “Hey, I’m on Instagram now.”

For his first post, Fox opted for two pics taken of himself and Kiefer Sutherland, taken 30 years apart. The first is an on-set snap from the ABC drama Designated Survivor where Fox has signed on or a five-episode arc. Fox plays Ethan West, a relentless lawyer and formidable adversary for President Tom Kirkman (Sutherland).

The snaps were captioned, “If 30 years ago these 2 Canadians knew they would be working in the Oval Office, they would have been on better behavior,” Fox captioned the shot. “Thanks Kiefer. This is now, swipe for then.”
