We can always count on the MTV Movie & TV Awards to give fan-favorite movies and TV shows the recognition they deserve and that’s exactly what this ceremony did on Sunday night. Euphoria topped the list of winners with four awards while Spider-Man: No Way Home came in second with two.

The explosive second season of the HBO teen drama received seven nominations this year and managed to collect the biggest award of the night – the best show. It ended up beating Inventing Anna, Loki, Squid Game, Ted Lasso, and Yellowstone to win one of the ceremony’s highest honors.

Euphoria won three more awards at this year’s ceremony—the best performance in a show for Zendaya, best fight for the face-off between Maddy and Cassie, and “Here for the Hookup” award.

Spider-Man: No Way Home dominated the movie categories, but only managed to collect two out of seven awards it was nominated for. It was named the best movie of the year, while its star Tom Holland collected the award for the best performance.

The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards returned to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on June 5. Vanessa Hudgens and Tayshia Adams shared the hosting duties at this year’s ceremony.

MTV Movie and TV Awards are the latest award show to unveil their list of contenders, and some of our absolute favorites made the cut. Marvel’s hit series WandaVision led the way with a total of five nominations, but Emily in Paris and The Boys were right behind with four.

These three series will all be competing for one of the biggest awards of the night—best show. The list of contenders in this category also includes Netflix smash hits Bridgerton and Cobra Kai.

In addition to competing for the best show awards, WandaVision scored four more nominations—best performance in a show (Elizabeth Olsen), best hero (Teyonah Parris), best villain (Kathryn Hahn), and best fight (Wanda vs. Agatha).

In film categories, the field is much more colorful, but Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is the absolute leader with a total of three nominations. It’s one of the projects in the running for the best movie of the year, together with Judas and the Black Messiah, Promising Young Woman, Soul, and To All the Boys: Always and Forever.
