Entertainment Weekly will star in the big screen adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s novella, Color Out of Space. The feature is helmed by South African filmmaker Richard Stanley. Cage joins the previously announced Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard, and Q’Orianka Kilcher.

The feature will be produced by SpectreVision’s Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, Lisa Whalen and Elijah Wood. 

“Lovecraft is the dark father of modern horror, and we have been searching for an adaptation that captures the true scope of his cosmic dread for years,” Noah said in a statement. “Richard Stanley — a wizard in his own right — will at long last bring Lovecraft’s humbling power to the screen unfiltered.”

“The adaptation by Richard Stanley is outstanding and unique, a perfect canvas for Nicolas Cage’s inimitable acting style. We are tremendously excited to continue our partnership with SpectreVision and their signature style of genre,” added executive producer Johnny Chang. 

Color Out of Space will be Stanley’s first film since he exited The Island of Dr. Moreau in 1995.

Friend and Gummer will play Jeff and Maggie, a newly separated couple battling for custody of their 7-year-old daughter (McGraw). Brewer will play the couple’s longtime nanny, and Cox will star as Maggie’s overbearing father.

Bell is producing alongside Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman Russ Posternak and Jesse Korman, along with RainMaker’s Clay Pecorin and Russell Geyser. Seth Posternak and Dennis Rice serve as executive producers.

Production is currently underway in New York.

The Michael Polish helmed feature is based on the true story of a woman who unknowingly became the voice of German propaganda, which targeted American troops during WWII. The woman named Mildred Gillars will be portrayed by Williams, with Pacino playing a lawyer tasked with representing her after she was arrested on multiple counts of treason in the US. The film also stars Swen Temmel. 

The $25 million budget film is based on the nonfiction book Axis Sally Confidential by William Owen with Vance Owen and Darryl Hicks penning the script. Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce the film through their Emmett Furla Oasis Films. Owen and Tucker Tooley will also produce, with Williams, Lydia Hull, Tim Sullivan and Alex Eckert serving as executive producers.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in January.

The film is about a woman (Silverstone) who attempts to stop her brother (Hoffman) from marrying a young, French girl (Olliver) during their wedding weekend in the Hamptons. 

Filming of the Mandorla Productions feature took place in the Hamptons and New York City.

Andrew Carlberg, Tim Harms, and Gross serve as producers.

The 35-year-old actress has been set to star in the sci-fi action feature, Genesis. Bosworth is also set to produce via her Make Pictures Productions alongside Jason Tamasco, Jerry Careccio, and Zak Kristofek’s Bad Idea shingle.

The thriller is about “a mother searching for her daughter in a post-apocalyptic world.”

The film will be Mike Le Han’s feature film directorial debut from a script penned by Brian Michael Scully. According to Deadline, the producers of Genesis are taking the title to the ongoing American Film Market in Santa Monica. 

It looks like Bosworth and the sci-fi genre are a strong match with the actress set to star in Neil LaBute’s The I-Land, which was just ordered to series by Netflix. Bosworth also recently starred in the post-apocalyptic drama The Domestics and inThe Long Road Home.
