According to the film’s official synopsis, the Renaissance World Tour created a sanctuary for freedom and shared joy for more than 2.7 million fans. This concert film will capture the journey that Beyoncé embarked on during this tour and encapsulate “her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft.”
Renaissance World Tour took place between May 10 and October 1 and featured 56 dates across Europe and North America. It earned a total of 579.8 million to became the second highest-grossing tour by a female artist, behind Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, which also inspired an accompanying concert film earlier this fall.
Beyoncé followed in the footsteps of Taylor Swift and joined forces with AMC Theatres to make this concert film happen. She produced it through her company Parkwood Entertainment and is expected to receive 50% of box office grosses, just like Swift.
