If you are in the mood for more jokes from the Rick and Morty universe, don’t worry. Adult Swim got you covered.

Besides setting up the release of season five of the popular animated sci-fi sitcom next month, the network also started working on a Rick and Morty spinoff. Titled The Vindicators, the project focuses on the eponymous superhero team that made its appearance in episode “Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender” in season three.

According to Adult Swim’s press release, the spinoff follows characters Supernova, Alan Rails, Crocubot, Vance Maxiumus, and Noob Noob as they “fight crime, avert genocides, and yuk it up without Rick and Morty.”

Producers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe added that The Vindicators will dive deeper into the dysfunction of this unusual superhero team while exploring what happens when they “save (or destroy) worlds.”

The spinoff is expected to have a short format and eight to 10 episodes are currently being planned. The release date still remains unknown, with Adult Swim committing to premiere “either this year or next.”

Besides The Vindicators, the network is also working on spinoffs of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken and Pretty Face Is Going to Hell. They will also be based on the characters from the original shows or inspired by them while following the same short form structure.

Less than two weeks before Rick and Morty‘s fourth season debuts on Adult Swim, HBO Max announces that it has added the animated comedy to its library.

Rick and Morty exploded onto the scene in 2013 and quickly drew a legion of rabid followers from both critics and young fans,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer for HBO Max. “The jokes come fast and frenetically in a smart comedy concoction we are so happy to deliver on HBO Max.”

According to Deadline, the first three seasons of Rick and Morty will be available on the service when HBO Max launches in May 2020, with future seasons premiering first on Adult Swim before streaming on HBO Max.

Rick and Morty hails from co-creators and executive producers Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. It stars Roiland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer.

Season four of Rick and Morty is set to premiere November 10.

Adult Swim finally drops the trailer for Season 4 of Rick and Morty and confirms the season’s premiere date.

After a very long wait (the show hasn’t aired new episodes since October 2017!) the fourth season of Rick and Morty will premier on November 10. But the November premiere will only serve as the premiere of the season’s first half as the trailer’s narrator confirms.

“Half the season you deserve,” the narrator says. “All the season we could handle.”

Speaking of missing deadlines, the show’s co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have said in the past that it has to do with the show’s very high quality.

“There were so many things that had to be settled before we even started season 4, and it’s really safe to say — as Justin says — we’re literally writing season 5 while finishing season 4 just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule,” said Harmon. “Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but it is structured into our deal that if we’re going strong and fast there are options to deliver more episodes at a time.”

“We want every episode to be good,” Roiland added. “There are times we’re like, ‘Okay, this one will be the worst of the season,’ and we’re still compelled to do everything in our power to fix what we think is wrong with it. It could be considered one of the reasons the show takes so long. When we get the episodes back in color, it’s easy to see that if we cut this and add that, it will elevate this episode significantly. Sometimes we get them back and are like, ‘We need to roll our sleeves up and figure this out.’ This season’s been good. Pretty excited about this season.”

Pirate downloading and streaming websites seem to be more popular than ever, despite the efforts to put them down. One such website, TorrentFreak, tracks activity on file-sharing websites and compiles an annual list of the most-torrented TV shows.

For the sixth consecutive time, HBO hit show Game of Thrones has been the most pirated TV show of the year. The rest of the list includes The Walking Dead, followed by The Flash, The Big Bang Theory and Rick and Morty.

The interesting fact is that none of the Netflix shows has made it to the top 10 most pirated. It’s probably thanks to its worldwide availability and the possibility of shared accounts.
