]]>In an official statement announcing this project, the iconic rapper said a movie about his life was a long time coming and he waited to find the right partners and creative team capable of bringing it to life.
“I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” said Snoop Dogg.
Allen Hughes (The Book of Eli, Broken City) will direct the film, while Joe Robert Cole will write the script. The rapper will produce the project alongside Hughes and Sara Ramaker.
This is one of many biopics about iconic musicians being developed at Universal right now. They’re also plotting Madonna and Cher biopics, which have been greenlit by the iconic singers, after finding enormous success with the hip-hop biopic Straight Outta Compton.

]]>Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg opened the halftime show with their collaboration “The Next Episode” and proceeded with the cover of 2Pac’s “California Love”. They were followed by a guest performer by 50 Cent, who got the crowd wild with the rendition of his smash hit “In Da Club”.
Things got even more amazing from there, and Mary J. Blige gave us one of the night’s most unforgettable moments while performing “Family Affair” and “No More Drama”. She was followed by Kendrick Lamar, who did a great job representing a new generation of hip-hop.
He joined Eminem for “Forgot About Dre” before leaving the stage and letting the fellow rapper deliver a show-stopping rendition of his hit song “Lose Yourself”. The halftime show ended with all five headliners performing a joint rendition of “Still D.R.E.”
The Super Bowl LVI was held on February 13th, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with the Los Angeles Rams defeating the Cincinnati Bengals to win the title.

]]>Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige will be in charge of headlining the upcoming Super Bowl LVI halftime show. Pepsi’s VP of marketing, Todd Kaplan, is describing the upcoming show as an epic, unforgettable celebration of the impact hip hop has today.
“The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show has become a landmark cultural moment, bringing about some of the most iconic performances over the years… We are thrilled to bring together such an incredible array of talented, record-breaking musicians to put on a performance for the ages,” said Kaplan in a statement.
Pepsi and NFL assembled this lineup along with Jay-Z’s company Roc Nation and they’re describing the upcoming show as a larger-than-life performance of hits from the quintet’s collective catalog. For some of the artists, Super Bowl LVI hits close to home because it will be the first in nearly three decades to be held in the Los Angeles area. The Big Game will take place on February 13th, 2022 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

]]>Hundreds of fans showed up to attend the ceremony of unveiling Snoop Dogg’s star, which featured the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper giving a speech and thanking his fans, family and friends who helped him to get where he is now.
The best moment of the ceremony, which was attended by some high-profile names like talks show host Jimmy Kimmel and record producer Quincy Jones, came towards the end of Snoop’s speech when he decided to also thank the most deserving person for his success; himself.
“Last but not least, I want to thank me for believing in me,” – said Snoop Dogg. “I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I want to thank me for having no days off. I want to thank me for never quitting. I want to thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive.”
“I want to thank me for trying to do more right than wrong,” – he added. “I want to thank me for just being me at all times. Snoop Dogg, you a bad mothe**ker.”

According to a press release, this exciting project will chronicle a character built around the persona of Snoop Dogg – a multifaceted character who is a gangsta rapper, family man, and man of God. It will feature some of his greatest hits and songs from his recently released gospel album Bible of Love.
“Please believe you’ve never seen urban theatre like this! With my flavor and his expertise, we’re gonna bring the people an unmissable show. I can’t wait for everyone out there to see it!” said Snoop.
Redemption of a Dogg kicks off on October 5 with a five-night stand in Texas, before going on a small US tour. Director Je’Caryous Johnson is eagerly awaiting rehearsals so he could witness Snoop’s genius in person.
“I get to work with hip-hop legend Snoop. The thought alone leaves me speechless. I am honored and humbled to be able to partner with him and make history with Redemption of a Dogg.” said Johnson.
