]]> The Spider-Man sequels are the latest films to get pushed back by Sony Pictures as Hollywood studios are adjusting their release schedule due to the coronavirus.

Sony Pictures announced on Friday that Marvel-Sony’s Spider-Man Far From Home sequel would be moved from July 16, 2021, to November 5, 2021. Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel will also be delayed six months from April 8, 2022, to October 7, 2022.

Tom Holland starred in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was one of the most successful films of 2019, grossing $1.3 billion in box offices worldwide. The franchise began with 2017’s Spider-Man Homecoming and the untitled film will be the third in the franchise.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was also a huge moneymaker, grossing $375 million worldwide and winning last year’s Acadamy Award for the best animated movie.

Holland’s video-game adaptation Uncharted will also be postponed, moving from October 8, 2021, to July 16, 2021.

]]> Green Book cemented its status as one of front-runners in this year’s Oscars race at the Producers Guild Awards. This critically acclaimed comedy topped the list of winners at this ceremony after scoring the best motion picture award.

Several Oscar darlings were in the running for this prestigious award. The list of nominees also included A Star Is Born, Roma and The Favourite, but Green Book came out swinging, picking up the biggest honor of the night. This victory comes a few weeks after this film won three Golden Globes, including best motion picture – musical or comedy.

Best picture winner at the Oscars is still difficult to predict, even after Producers Guild Awards, but this ceremony provided a bit of clarity when it comes to other categories. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is pretty much a lock for the best-animated feature award, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Won’t You Be My Neighbor? taking a trophy for the best documentary.
