]]>Following filming reaching its conclusion, Jim Parsons aka Sheldon Cooper himself shared a heartfelt message with his fans on Instagram.
“Knock knock knock, thank you…” the message began.
“Thank you, apartment 4A, for being home to so many dreams come true, to so many friendships made. And thank YOU, ALL of you – yes, YOU, reading this right NOW!
“As we get ready to tape our final episode tonight, to walk in and out of this apartment door for the last time, it is hard to find the words to articulate what a profound experience this has been. But the words ‘love’ and ‘gratitude’ come to mind… so love and gratitude to all of you. ALL of you. Thank you.”
The final episode ever of Big Bang Theory will air on May 16. Gulp.
(oh! and happy birthday to @sanctionedjohnnygalecki and @kunalkarmanayyar – talk about good timing… may your next 12 years be as vibrant and wonderful as the last 12 years in which i’ve had the pleasure to know and work with you both

]]>The news was announced by CBS. The network also revealed that the final episode of the popular series will be an hourlong episode.
The May 16 series finale will end the sitcom’s 12-season run. According to The Wrap, by the time the series ends, it will be the longest-running multi-camera series in television history with 279 episodes. Over the years the series was nominated for 52 Emmys and 7 Golden Globes. It took home 10 Emmys including Jim Parsons who himself took home 4 Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy. Big Bang also starred Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar.
Very little is known about how producers and creative team has chosen to end, with Chuck Lorre telling Deadline just that “we have a general idea of what we are aiming for with May and the finale.
Parsons and Cuoco did give a small hint of what they wish happens in the series finale telling Entertainment Weekly, “That’s one of my wishes for the final episode,” says Parsons. “The elevator gets fixed, at least for a minute, and then we all get stuck in it.” “It would be a great show ending for me!” added Cuoco.

This year’s Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony will take place on March 23 and it will be hosted by DJ Khaled.

]]>Young Sheldon follows the adventures of our favorite quirky genius as a little boy facing a unique set of challenges. Ever since it premiered in 2017, this family sitcom has been a powerful performer for CBS, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to hear they’re bringing it back.
“The Coopers are portrayed by an amazing cast, and we are looking forward to having the gifted writing staff mine even more of Sheldon’s hilarious backstory and the warm family dynamic that has made this comedy a favorite with audiences for the past two seasons,” said Thom Sherman, senior executive VP of programming at CBS.
CBS announced the news shortly after they gave a two-season renewal to Mom, another hit sitcom produced by Chuck Lorre.

]]>A very last minute casting has been confirmed — Lindsey Kraft has been cast in CBS’ The Big Bang Theory. The actress, whose credits include Grace and Frankie, Dirty John and The Conners, has been set as a recurring role on the sitcom.
According to Deadline, Brian Thomas Smith is set to reprise his role as Penny’s ex-hubby Zack during the second half of the series’ 12th and final season. In comes Kraft as Zack’s new bride Marissa. Kraft will first appear on the January 10th episode and will return for multiple episodes. The logline for the episode reads: “Zack and his wife want a baby, but when Zack is infertile, they ask Leonard for help.”
Big Bang Theory‘s series finale is scheduled to shoot in late April and air in May, but the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre said they only have a general idea for the series’ finale. He told Deadline, “These days there’s a lot of melancholy in the background at all times,” he said. “It’s been a 12-year project that has been really just a joy. It’s going to be very, very sad to let it go.”
The series’ finale of The Big Bang Theory airs in May.

]]>CBS, Warner Bros. TV and Chuck Lorre Productions have issued a joint statement confirming the news.
“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
The decision to cancel follows the network and producers reluctancy to reconfigure the entire show following the departure of Jim Parsons. According to EW, star Jim Parsons, who plays Dr. Sheldon Cooper, is ready to walk away from the series and since there is no show without Sheldon the series’ upcoming season will be its last.
CBS Entertainment head Kelly Kahl also released a statement confirming the news, three weeks after saying that the network is in preliminary talks to renew the show.
“The Big Bang Theory has been the defining comedy of its generation. All of us at the Network take exceptional pride in this series that uniquely combines creative genius, commercial ratings success, cultural influence and characters who became so popular, they are easily known by just one name. We’re incredibly grateful for our partnership with Warner Bros., Chuck Lorre Productions and a brilliant cast and crew that has made such a ‘big bang’ and lasting legacy on the television landscape.”
Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory will premier Monday, September 24.

]]>The hit series is currently in its 11th season with a confirmed 12th season, however, according to Johnny Galecki, that might be it. At the 2018 TCA Winter Press Tour, Galecki talked about The Bang’s eventual end.
“The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping [the show] has been that we’re all going to be very sad when that day comes,” Galecki said. “But I think at this point everyone’s very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families.”

The interesting fact is that none of the Netflix shows has made it to the top 10 most pirated. It’s probably thanks to its worldwide availability and the possibility of shared accounts.

]]>Earlier this year, fans got a sneak peek of the set and the show’s adorable star Iain Armitage, who plays the young Sheldon Cooper. The prequel follows young Sheldon and is narrated by Jim Parsons, who played adult Sheldon and is also the spinoff’s executive producer.
Portraying the 9-year-old nerdy genius was a bit of a challenge as some qualities that were portrayed by adult Sheldon simply don’t translate well to a young child. For example, while adult Sheldon can be horrible to his best friends but still be loved by the audience, the same behavior would simply make a child look bratty. At the Television Critics Association press tour, Lorre said that a decision was made to have the young Sheldon simply be naïve and nerdy rather than a cynical young boy.
Parsons said that watching a younger version of the character which he played for ten years was a revitalizing and fun experience.
Fans might be expecting some cameo performances, however, Lorre said that as of now, nothing like that has been planned. He added that perhaps some plot lines on the prequel will resonate in Big Bang, somewhat of a ripple effect as the shows will go forward in time.
