This series premiered on Amazon Prime in 2015 to critical acclaim, and went on to win two Emmys in technical categories. Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke thanked everyone working on this series and promised fans will be satisfied with the conclusion they have in store.

“We are incredibly proud of all of the hard work from the massively talented executive producers, cast, crew, and everyone who has worked on The Man in the High Castle over the years. With production ongoing on our fourth and final season, we can’t wait for fans to see how this final chapter in the story unfolds,” said Salke.

The media giant announced the news at San-Diego Comic-Con on Saturday as well as revealed that the third season will debut on October 5.

The series is based on the novel by Philip K. Dick of the same name and tells the story of an alternate historical ending to World War II, in which the Axis powers, i.e., Germany and Japan, won the conflict and divided up the United States. 

The early pick up isn’t much of a surprise, as Amazon reports that the Man in the High Castle is the platform’s most popular series (we’ll have to take Amazon’s word for it since, like other streaming services, they don’t release viewership data). 

The series was developed by Frank Spotnitz and is executive produced by Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Isa Dick Hackett, and Daniel Percival. Eric Overmyer joined the production as showrunner and exec producer for season three. 

The Man in the High Castle stars Rufus Sewell, Alexa Davalos, DJ Qualls, Rupert Evans, Stephen Root, Luke Kleintank and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
