Critics’ Choice Awards are coming back in style this winter, and the nominees in the television categories have just been chosen! Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show led the way with six nods, followed by the final season of HBO’s Succession with five.

Both The Morning Show and Succession will be in the running for one of the most coveted awards of the night: the best drama series. The list of contenders in this category also includes Netflix’s The Diplomat, HBO’s The Last of Us, Disney’s Loki, Paramount’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

The Morning Show scored five more nods in the acting categories, thanks to the amazing performances by Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Nicole Beharie, and Karen Pittman. Succession also owes its additional four nominations to its cast, including Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen.

ABC’s Abbot Elementary is the runner-up for the best comedy series award after winning it last year, but it will have to beat tough competition in HBO’s Barry, FX’s The Bear, Reservation Dogs, and What We Do in the Shadows, Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Apple TV’s Shrinking, and Peacock’s Poker Face.

The Morning Show has been a key part of Apple TV’s programming ever since its launch and its ending is nowhere in sight just yet. The award-winning drama led by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon has been renewed for its fourth season ahead of the Season 3 premiere.

According to the streamer’s official logline, The Morning Show is “an unapologetically candid drama that looks at the modern workplace through the lens of the people who help wake America up.” The series explores the aftermath of the #MeToo movement and the way it impacted the staff of a popular morning news program.

In addition to Aniston and Witherspoon, Steve Carell led the series in Seasons 1 and 2, while the supporting cast includes Mark Duplass, Billy Crudup, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, and Desean Terry. Jon Hamm, Stephen Fry, Tig Notaro, and Nicole Beharie are set to join them in the upcoming third season.

Season 3 of The Morning Show wrapped up back in February and is expected to premiere this year, but it still doesn’t have an official release date. The leading duo’s contracts were up at the end of Season 3 but they’re now expected to sign on for one more season and could even return for Season 5, according to Deadline.

Season 3 of the Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show is underway, and several new cast members will be joining Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. Here are three key players who have recently been cast in the third season of the award-winning show.

Jon Hamm

Mad Men’s Jon Hamm was the first new cast member to join Season 3, and he’ll have a major role to play. The Emmy-winning actor will portray Paul Marks, a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA and pulls Billy Crudup’s Cory, Aniston’s Alex, and Witherspoon’s Bradley into his powerful orbit. Witherspoon said that his casting got “everybody excited” and that his character will have an “Alien vs. Predator” dynamic with Crudup’s.

Tig Notaro

Notaro is the latest star to join the upcoming season of The Morning Show, and her character will be closely connected to Hamm’s. The stand-up comedian, who recently starred in Army of the Dead, will portray Amanda Robinson, Paul Marks’ chief of staff.

Nicole Beharie

Nicole Beharie, best known for her critically acclaimed role in Miss Juneteenth, will play Christina Hunter in the show’s third season. Her character has been described as a grounded, competitive, and charismatic millennial who is a new anchor on The Morning Show.

A new full-length trailer for The Morning Show is here.

The trailer comes just days after a cryptic first-look teaser was released by Apple.

The highly anticipated show stars Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, and Reese Witherspoon. It explores the internal strife of and interpersonal drama between the morning news show’s co-anchors (Aniston and Carrell) and a newcomer (Witherspoon).

The backdrop of the show is pretty much self-explanatory — the set and studio of a morning news program, which we now learn are in the middle of “an epic rebirth,” following allegations made against Carrell’s character and Jennifer’s beloved character “break down.”

The Morning Show also stars Mark Duplass and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Apple’s TV Plus streaming service launches this fall.

The first trailer for Apple’s The Morning Show is finally here.

The trailer features the series’ leads — Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon in photographs and posters in hallway, dressing rooms, and the control room, as well as overlapping lines of dialogue from all three actors.

“Through the prism of those under-slept, over-adrenalized people in front of and behind the camera, we take an honest look at the complex relationships between women and men in the workplace, and we engage in the conversation people are a little too afraid to have unless they’re behind closed doors,” Aniston said.

Aniston and Witherspoon are set to portray “two ambitious, aspirational female characters,” while Carell portrays Mitch Kessler, an anchor “struggling to maintain relevancy in the ever-changing media world.”

Apple also confirmed Monday that The Morning Show will debut exclusively on Apple TV Plus this fall.
