The office – OMG Check It Out ! https://omgcheckitout.com Thu, 09 May 2024 11:54:29 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.8.3 Peacock Orders “The Office” Spin-Off About Dying Daily Newspaper https://omgcheckitout.com/peacock-orders-the-office-spin-off-about-dying-daily-newspaper/ Fri, 10 May 2024 06:33:00 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=42148 Many beloved sitcoms have been revived in recent years, and The Office is the next one in line! Peacock ordered Greg Daniels and Michael Koman’s new spin-off set in the same universe, which will center on the team of office workers at a dying daily newspaper.

The new spin-off will focus on a new group of characters, but it will reunite us with the documentary crew from the original series. After immortalizing Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, they’ll head to the Midwest to chronicle the inner workings of the dying newspaper and the optimistic publisher trying to revive it with a team of volunteer reporters.

This spin-off started taking shape after The Office developer Greg Daniels rounded out the team of writers to work on new ideas. Michael Koman emerged as one of the leading voices in the writers’ room and eventually co-created this series with Daniels. They’ll executive produce it with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.

Even before Peacock officially placed a series order, Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) landed lead roles in this series. The rest of the ensemble cast will be announced before the show kicks off production this July.

“The Office” Spin-Off in the Works With Domhnall Gleeson & Sabrina Impacciatore https://omgcheckitout.com/the-office-spin-off-in-the-works-with-domhnall-gleeson-sabrina-impacciatore/ Mon, 22 Apr 2024 06:20:04 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=42097 Greg Daniels has been plotting a potential The Office spin-off for quite some time, and it seems he’s finally making it happen. He co-created a new series set in the same universe, and Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore will reportedly be a part of its cast.

This series won’t be a remake or a sequel of the workplace sitcom we all know and love but on an offshoot set in the same universe. Daniels co-created the series alongside Michael Koman, and it will reportedly focus on new characters working at a new office, which exists in the same universe as the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

This project came together after Daniels gathered a group of writers to work on a potential The Office spin-off. Nathan For You co-creator Michael Koman quickly emerged as one of the leading creative voices and eventually joined Daniels as a co-creator of this offshoot.

Domhnall Gleeson, who previously led the mini-series The Patient alongside The Office star Steve Carell, is eying one of the lead roles in this project. His filmography also includes the Star Wars franchise and notable roles in About Time, Ex Machina, and Brooklyn.

He’ll be joined by Sabrina Impacciatore, the Italian actress best known for her Emmy-nominated role in the second season of The White Lotus.

“The Office” Stars Talk Reunion https://omgcheckitout.com/the-office-stars-talk-reunion/ Sat, 28 Dec 2019 11:14:19 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=35736 It’s a mini The Office reunion.

The Office alums Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey joined Ellie Kemper, who served as guest host, on Monday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an impromptu reunion.

The get-together was a great time for the three actresses to talk about Fischer and Kinsey’s new podcast at Earwolf titled Office Ladies, where they discuss and break down each episode of the sitcom.

This also served as an opportunity to discuss revisiting the series.

“I would not do an Office reboot, but I would love to do a reunion special,” Fischer told Kemper when she asked. “I would like to get us all together again.”

But it looks like Kinsey is definitely in, saying, “I would do anything they called me to do. So if you want to call me, I’m around.”

“I’m with you, Angela!” Kemper agreed.

Check out the video of the three below.

“The Office” Will Be Leaving Netflix in 2021 https://omgcheckitout.com/the-office-will-be-leaving-netflix-in-2021/ Fri, 28 Jun 2019 09:02:59 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=32517 If you spend most of your time on Netflix watching The Office on the loop, we’ve got some pretty sad news for you. NBC will be pulling the hit sitcom from the popular website in 2021, because they want it to be the staple of their new streaming service.

Netflix officials expressed their sadness over the decision, but reminded fans of the show they can still binge watch it until January 2021. This media giant has always been pretty secretive about its streaming numbers, but it’s been reported that The Office was their most-watched show in 2018.

Netflix’s loss is NBC’s gain, since this sitcom happens to be one of their biggest hits of the 21st century, and they can’t wait to bring it back home.

The Office has become a staple of pop-culture and is a rare gem whose relevance continues to grow at a time when fans have more entertainment choices than ever before. We can’t wait to welcome the gang from Dunder Mifflin to NBCUniversal’s new streaming service,” said Bonnie Hammer, chairman of NBCUniversal Direct-to-Consumer and Digital Enterprises.

Steve Carell says “The Office” Revival Wouldn’t Work https://omgcheckitout.com/office-revival-wouldnt-work-today-according-steve-carell/ Sat, 13 Oct 2018 06:47:10 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=26485 Fans of NBC’s The Office are still hoping to see a revival of this highly successful sitcom, but even if that happens, it is highly unlikely that Steve Carell will be on board. According to Carell, who played Michael Scott on the show, a revival of The Office wouldn’t work today due to a different climate.

Because The Office is on Netflix and replaying, a lot more people have seen it recently,” Carell told Esquire in a recent interview. “I think because of that there’s been a resurgence in interest in the show, and talk about bringing it back. But apart from the fact that I just don’t think that’s a good idea, it might be impossible to do that show today and have people accept it the way it was accepted ten years ago. The climate’s different.

According to the 56-year-old actor, the main problem is in the inappropriate behavior of his character which was among the focal points of the sitcom.

I mean, the whole idea of that character, Michael Scott, so much of it was predicated on inappropriate behavior,” he explained. “I mean, he’s certainly not a model boss. A lot of what is depicted on that show is completely wrong-minded. That’s the point, you know? But I just don’t know how that would fly now. There’s a very high awareness of offensive things today—which is good, for sure. But at the same time, when you take a character like that too literally, it doesn’t really work.”

While Steve Carell thinks that The Office revival wouldn’t work, NBC disagrees. According to Deadline‘s report in late 2017, the network began exploring the possibility to bring back the sitcom for the 2018-19 season. Carell’s would not return, but some of the members from the original cast would be back alongside the new cast additions.

NBC Reportedly Working on “The Office” Revival https://omgcheckitout.com/nbc-reportedly-working-office-revival/ Tue, 19 Dec 2017 18:29:44 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=18823
According to TVLine, NBC is planning to revive The Office. If it happens, we won’t see Steve Carell as Michael Scott again, but a lot of new actors and characters will appear.

This comes after the success of Will & Grace that recently returned after being off the air for over 10 years. The last season of The Office aired in 2013 with most of the original cast still on it.

One of the cast members, actress and writer Mindy Kaling, said she would most likely be the part of the show if it returned.

“I loved working on the show and I was there for eight years,” Kaling said.”I think that if Greg Daniels, who did the American version of the show, he’s such a genius. And if he were to be in charge of it, I can’t imagine that I wouldn’t want to help out in some way, or write, and I feel like probably the rest of the cast feels the same.”

If NBC Gets Its Way, “The West Wing,” “Er,” “The Office” and “30 Rock” Will Be Revived https://omgcheckitout.com/nbc-gets-way-west-wing-er-office-30-rock-will-revived/ Sat, 05 Aug 2017 13:52:48 +0000 http://omgcheckitout.com/?p=9058

TV revivals are definitely this year’s thing. After we just found out Will & Grace was renewed for a season two months after the season one even aired, more exciting news is coming from NBC.

As Bob Greenblatt, NBC entertainment chairman, revealed for Deadline, the network is negotiating with the creators of The West Wing, The Office, 30 Rock, and ER about bringing their TV series back to the air. They all officially ended four or more years ago.

For now, it is most likely that we’ll see new episodes of The Office. Greenblatt pointed out that he has been discussing the show with creator Greg Daniels often: “I’ve talked to Greg four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘Maybe some day but not now.'”

30 Rock creator Tina Fey reportedly responded with “I don’t know, maybe,” Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) reportedly said, “You know I love that show and some day I’d love to revisit it, but it’s not going to happen right now.” As for the ER, John Wells said, “There is nothing concrete.”
