Based on Caroline Kepnes’ book series, You centers on Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager with a twisted dark side. He’s a hopeless romantic with a penchant for stalking the women he claims to love, and his infatuation usually has deadly consequences.

The first trailer for Season 5 sees Joe returning to where it all started—Mooney’s bookstore in New York—and that’s not a coincidence according to the leading man Penn Badgley.

“Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant. And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish,” Badgley told Tudum.

In addition to Badgley, Season 5 will also star Charlotte Richie, Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, Griffin Matthews, Natasha Behnam, Pete Ploszek, Tom Francis, Nava Mau, and Bianca Norwood. It will feature a total of 10 episodes, set to arrive on Netflix on April 24.

The Gotham City star will star on the upcoming season of Netflix’s You. According to TVLine, Taylor will play a character named Will, who is described as a “thoughtful, personable and highly intelligent guy” who deals with unpleasant people as part of his job.

You’s second season is inspired by the Caroline Kepnes’ second book in the series titled Hidden Bodies. The first season was based on the author’s first novel and followed Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as he becomes obsessed with Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail). 

Taylor’s other credits include The Walking Dead, John Wick 3 and The Good Wife.

Series co-creator Sara Gamble said of Love’s character, “Like her name, she’s very warm and there is a carefree aspect to her spirit that really comes from the fact that she has constructed a life for herself that’s about being in the moment and doing what she loves every day. In that way, she’s very very different than the woman that you got to know in season one, Beck, who was ambitious and driven as a writer and also as a young person in a social circle that had a certain kind of status. Beck had been quite aware of her social media presence, and Love is extremely disinterested in all of that.”

New cast members also include James Scully as Love’s brother Forty Quinn and Jenna Ortega as Ellie, a teenager growing up in the city.
