]]>This coming Sunday will mark the final Game of Thrones episode ever. Let that sink in.
The eighth and final season has been an emotional rollercoaster with each episode as long as a feature film, two massive battles, a couple of characters losing their minds, and even the dragons having a rough time.
The final episode of the final season is bound to bring with it some surrealism that it’s all over, but thankfully HBO will try and ease our withdrawal with a two-hour documentary the week after.
The network has now released the trailer for Game of Thrones: The Last Watch and it seems like we’ll be as emotional as Kit Harington.
“This is strange,” says co-creator D.B. Weiss. “Here we are at the last table read. It’s like looking around and seeing your family.”
The documentary was made by Jeanie Finlay who spent a year on the set to bring us “a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world — and then have to say goodbye to it.”
Game of Thrones: The Last Watch airs Sunday, May 26.

]]>The Prince of Egypt, a DreamWorks film that depicts the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt, is transitioning from animation to the stage and being turned into a musical.
The biblical classic has been a staple in most homes each Passover since being released in 1998. It is also renowned for its majestic lead song — the duet by Whitney Huston and Mariah Carey entitled “When You Believe.”
The film will now be heading to London’s West End for a 33-week run.
Stephen Schwartz of Wicked will helm the show’s music and lyrics, while Philip LaZebnik of Mulan and Pocahontas has been tasked with creating the musical’s book.
“When You Believe” — which won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1999 — will feature, as well as five other songs from the movie and 10 brand new tracks.
Moses be gracing the London stage starting February 25th, 2020.

]]>In 1999, Denzel Washington starred in the film The Bone Collector, based on the Jeffrey Deaver novel of the same name, as a retired forensic criminologist left in a quadriplegic state as a result of an accident on the job.
The novel was the first in a series featuring Lincoln Rhyme which has since spanned 14 books.
NBC is now developing a television series based on the story in association with Universal Television, Sony Pictures Television, and Keshet Studios.
The film version of the series saw Denzel’s character return to the force to work on a harrowing case, reaming up with rookie cop Amelia Sachs who was played by Angelina Jolie.
It earned $151 million worldwide.
No scheduled date has been announced as yet, but NBC has handed out a premium script order for the project.

Director of Doctor Strange, Scott Derrickson, revealed that he lost his home in the fire:

]]>With the premiere date for season 8 drawing every closer, HBO has now revealed the first still from the upcoming series, featuring Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke as Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.
The pair is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and reveals that shooting season 8 was far more intense than the previous seven.

Emilia agreed, saying, “[Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.’ Everything feels more intense.”
Kit revealed that he refused to read the season’s scripts, instead choosing to find out his character’s fate during the cast table read.
At which point he cried.

]]>If your enthusiasm has gotten way out of control, worry not, because Curb Your Enthusiasm has begun production on its 10th season.
The series stars Seinfeld co-creator, Larry David, as a tongue-in-cheek version of himself as he battled through his semi-retirement in Los Angeles and New York City.
6 long years passed between seasons 8 and 9 which premiered in 2011 and 2017, respectively. Season 10 was confirmed way back in December, and, thankfully, we aren’t going to have to wait another half-dozen years before we see Larry’s latest shenanigans!.
“We are thrilled that Larry will be back with his uniquely acerbic wit and comedic sensibility,” HBO Programming president Casey Bloys said.
The 71-year-old agreed, saying, “As I’ve said many times when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so.”
HBO has now confirmed that production on the next season began a week ago.
We can’t wait to see just how annoying Larry gets…

]]>The 82-year-old’s final film, The Old Man & the Gun, premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Friday.
The veteran actor and director announced his retirement early in August, telling Entertainment Weekly, “Never say never, but I pretty well concluded that this would be it for me in terms of acting.”
Redford has been acting on screen since 1960 and has an Academy Award for directing his first feature film, Ordinary People, as well as established the renowned Sundance Film Festival.
“The truth is that I really do feel that it’s time for me to move into retirement,” he said. “I’ve been doing this since I was 21. I’ve put my soul and heart into it over the years. I thought, ‘That’s enough. Why don’t you quit while you’re a little bit ahead? Don’t wait for the bell to toll. Just get out.’ So I felt my time had come and I couldn’t think of a better project to go out on than this film.”

]]>The sequel to last year’s Wonder Woman blockbuster will be set in the decade of color-blocking and leg warmers, as evidenced by the title, Wonder Woman 1984.
Another famous thing from that era was undoubtedly The Breakfast Club. The film found 5 stereotypical high school students, who would never have had anything to do with each other, all meeting on a Saturday morning detention.
Now, the cast of Wonder Woman decided to pay homage by recreating the classic movie poster.
Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot takes on the role of Molly Ringwald’s spoilt “princess” Claire; Chris Pine is Anthony Michael Hall’s geeky character, Brian; director Patty Jenkins is Judd Nelson’s rebel, John Bender; Kristen Wiig recreates Ally Sheedy’s outcast, Allison; and Pedro Pascal is Emilio Estevez’s jock, Andrew.

]]>The Respect singer died in her Detroit home as s result of advanced pancreatic cancer.
Dubbed the “Queen of Soul”, Aretha has no less than 18 Grammys to her name and was the very first woman to be inducted into the prestigious Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. She had 88 Billboard chart hits during the rock era, tops among female vocalists. At the peak of her career, she had more than two dozen Top 40 hits.
The late icon had been in poor health of late, with friends and family visiting her bedside. Amongst them was fellow legendary musician, Steve Wonder, and Reverend Jesse Jackson.
“Aretha helped define the American experience,” former President Barack Obama said in a statement. “In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade — our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. May the Queen of Soul rest in eternal peace.”
Many stars have now paid tribute to Miss Franklin following her death, including Elton John who said that their shared birthday meant so much to him:
