Jay-Z Releases 4:44 Album

The highly anticipated 4:44 album of Jay-Z is finally here. This is the 13th solo studio album from the 47-year-old rapper and it’s packed with references to his career, his friends in the industry, and of course, his family, wife Beyoncé and their children, E! News reports.

The new music material was exclusively for Tidal’s partnership with Sprint which is also the same collaboration that’s been teasing commercials for the album.

In the past weeks, several clips featuring Oscar winners Lupita Nyong’o, Mahershala Ali and Donald Glover have been dropped, giving fans preview to the album.

According to New York Daily News, many people are complaining in social media about having to sign up to Tidal to listen to the album because it’s not yet available anywhere else.  When the album dropped midnight on Friday, Twitter reactions turned from Tidal complaints to live reaction of “4:44.” Many loved the album and were happy to hear new music from the Grammy award winner.

However, not everyone liked the new record and some expressed their bad reviews on social media.

In the album, Jay-Z openly talked about miscarriages, seems to have admitted cheating on Beyoncé and apologizes to her. These revelations had people losing their minds.

This marks his first new solo music since 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail which featured many hits including “Holy Grail” with Justin Timberlake. The megahit track won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy Award the following year.

MCHG sold over two million copies in the United States alone, and was certified double platinum by RIAA shortly after its release, E! News reports.
