Miley Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon Go Undercover as Subway Singers

Miley Cyrus took over The Tonight Show on Wednesday, where she joined host Jimmy Fallon for a few musical segments, including an undercover performance in a New York City subway station that started the show.

Cyrus wore a long black wig, dark shades, and a cowboy hat while Fallon donned a denim jacket, a shaggy brown wig and his new goatee as the pair took the subway to perform as singing street buskers for passers-by.

Fallon played the tambourine, backed up by a guitarist and a drummer, and Cyrus belted out an amazing soulful cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” and it wasn’t long before people walking by took notice.

Before the song was done, they have assembled quite an audience, which appeared to be a mix of people who recognized the two and others who were just impressed with the singer’s performance. After the song, Cyrus and Fallon pulled off their disguises to the amusement of the crowd.

“This is my first time [playing] at the subway station,” Cyrus exclaimed. “This is exciting s**t for me!”

The 24-year-old pop star then performed her hit “Party in the U.S.A.” and led the big crowd in a massive singalong, most of them filming the event on their phones.

Later in the episode, the “Wrecking Ball” singer joined in on a fun segment of “Google Translate Songs,” in which she and Fallon sang lyrics to well-known songs that had been translated into other languages and back into English.
