“The Sandlot” is Heading Back to Theaters for 25th Anniversary

Fathom Events is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of The Sandlot by showing the classic ‘90s flick across select theatres on July 22 and July 24.

The film, set during the ‘60s, follows fifth-grader Scotty Smalls who just moved into town and welcomed onto the baseball team by a group of kids and soon become best of friends. It stars Mike Vitar (Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez), Victor DiMattia (Timmy Timmons), Grant Gelt (Bertram Grover Weeks), Tom Guiry (Scotty Smalls), Chauncey Leopardi (Michael “Squints” Palledorous), Shane Obedzinski (Tommy “Repeat” Timmons), Brandon Quinton Adams (Kenny DeNunez) and Patrick Renna (Hamilton “Ham” Porter).

The cast of The Sandlot reunited earlier this year, for a special show on NBC’s Today in honor of the anniversary.

“It’s been crazy. I mean, it definitely gets you in places for free,” Marty York joked about the movie’s legacy. “I can’t walk through a Las Vegas casino without someone shouting, ‘Yeah-Yeah!'”

“The film was made with the same amount of love that people have for it, and it was the greatest summer of our lives,” director David Mickey Evans explained.

“Seeing these guys, some of ’em I haven’t seen in 25 years, but it is just like we’re back,” Patrick Renna added.
