George Clooney and Adam Sandler have previously been announced as leads of Baumbach’s next film, and they’ll be in pretty good company. Laura Dern will reunite with the acclaimed director, after winning an Oscar for her supporting turn in Marriage Story, and she’ll be joined by The Morning Show’s Billy Crudup and Daisy Jones & the Six’s Riley Keough.
Baumbach and Netflix go way back, and his last three films as a director have been released by the streaming giant. Their collaboration kicked off with The Meyerowitz Stories in 2017, and he went on to direct Marriage Story and White Noise under the Netflix banner. He’s currently in the running for his third screenplay Oscar for co-writing Barbie with his wife Greta Gerwig.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette was described as a touching novel about a misplaced genius and a mother and daughter’s role in an absurd world. It seems like the upcoming movie will perfectly capture the spirit of these two amazing women. Cate Blanchett never disappointed us, and she’ll have great support in the newcomer Emma Nelson.
Richard Linklater directed and wrote the movie, and convinced the likes of Billy Crudup, Laurence Fishburne, Kristen Wiig, and Judy Greer to join the cast. Where’d You Go, Bernadette is scheduled for 22 March 2019 release.
