]]>Executive producer Jeremy Carver confirmed the news that Doom Patrol has been renewed for a second season at San-Diego Comic-Con on Saturday evening. Star Diane Guerrero also confirmed that the show will also be available on HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service.
The series written by Carver is based on characters by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani. It is a re-imagining of the story that follows a group of outcast superheroes, who suffered accidents that gave them superhuman abilities but also left them disfigured including Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, Crazy Jane, and mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder.
According to Variety, Doom Patrol has been the most well-received DC Universe series to date, with season 1 holding a 95% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The news of cancellation took everyone by surprise since only one episode officially aired before DC decided to call it quits. Executive producer James Wan was just as shocked as the rest of us, but he took a moment to thank everyone who worked hard to bring this show to life.
“Don’t really know or understand why Swamp Thing was canceled, but I can tell you this – all the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into this. Really proud of everyone’s hard work,” Wan said on Instagram.
