]]>This promising project will premiere on BET, but it won’t be a direct biopic. Instead of focusing solely on Ross, this 10-episode drama will tell the story of dancers, crew, and musicians trying to make it in ‘70s Hollywood.
Don Cornelius, who launched and hosted this music show, will be the central character of American Soul. He’ll be portrayed by Sinqua Walls, known for his work on Power and Once Upon a Time. Michelle Williams won’t be the only person portraying a legendary soul artist on this show. Gabrielle Dennis and McKinley Freeman were cast as Tina and Ike Turner.
To make the whole thing more exciting, Williams will team up with Kelly Rowland on set. If they could only get Beyoncé on board, it would be an epic Destiny’s Child reunion!

]]>After postponing her appearance at Coachella last year due to her pregnancy with twins Sir and Rumi, and after months of speculation of all the surprises Bey has planned for her fans, the Queen Bey served up an epic performance which included Destiny’s Child reunion! The last time Destiny’s Child performed together was during Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.
Beyoncé looked fierce as usual with a slew of backup dancers and a full New-Orleans marching band, kicking off her set belting “Crazy in Love.” She was dressed in a custom Balmain cheerleader-inspired gold outfit. During her two hour set, she also sang her greatest hits including “Formation, “Diva,” “Single Ladies,” “Drunk In Love” and more.
About half-way into her set, Beyoncé was joined by her former band members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams and the trio sang “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name” and “Soldier.”
“Coachella, thanks for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline,” Beyoncé said on stage.
Seems only appropriate that fans have started re-naming the festival #Beychella!

]]>To celebrate the special anniversary Beyoncé shared some never-before-seen pictures from way back when on her website. The pics are from inside the recording studio with the original line-up of Destiny’s Child (herself, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett).
The photos include candid snaps of a smiling Rowland and of Beyoncé herself in a sweet black-and-white pic in front of the mike. She also shared promotional group shots, where the girls rocked some late ’90s fashion.
When it means getting a peak at nostalgia, we’re all up for the Queen B sporting a retro vibe!
