Dexter: Original Sin chronicles Dexter Morgan’s early years, and the new trailer sees him learning how to control his bloodthirsty urges and channel his inner darkness.

Dexter: Original Sin is set years before the original series, in Miami during the early 90s, where Dexter just started a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. After years of keeping his sinister nature under control, he makes a transition from student to a serial killer, after his father helps him develop his signature code and only murder people who deserve to be eliminated from society.

Michael C. Hall returns as the narrator of the prequel series and the inner voice of the young version of Dexter, played by Patrick Gibson. The show’s star-studded cast also includes Christian Slater, Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Dexter: Original Sin will have its world premiere on Paramount+ on December 13 before airing on Showtime two days later. It’s not the first Dexter spin-off and it won’t be the last – Dexter: New Blood premiered on Showtime in 2021, and its sequel Dexter: Resurrection is on the way.

“Dexter” Revival Trailer: Dexter Leads New Life, But He’s Up to His Old Ways https://omgcheckitout.com/dexter-revival-trailer-dexter-leads-new-life-but-hes-up-to-his-old-ways/ Tue, 27 Jul 2021 07:02:43 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=38964 Dexter fans have something to look forward to as the revival is coming on November 7. The first trailer was just released.

Michael C. Hall will be reprising his role as serial killer Dexter Morgan in Dexter: New Blood and maybe we’ll get the ending we were hoping for after the disappointing one in the series finale.

In the trailer we see Dexter starting a new life as Jim Linsday, a popular man in the community, but he can’t let go of his urges to kill. Dexter’s carrying a leather knife, which indicates he can’t shake his past.

“It’s come up in different forms,” Hall said about the revival at Comic-Con. “It never felt quite right in terms of the story that was presented or in terms of the timing. But, I think, along with everybody on this panel and along with everybody who’s ever watched the show and is a fan of the show, I myself have also wondered what the hell happened to this guy. And I think enough has time has passed and the storytelling opportunities were a lot more interesting for having more time between the end and now.”

Dexter aired for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013.

Michael C. Hall Would Be Open to a “Dexter” Revival https://omgcheckitout.com/michael-c-hall-open-dexter-revival/ Thu, 15 Nov 2018 06:33:38 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=27365 Revivals have become a common occurrence in the past couple of years, with more and more shows getting back on television after previously being canceled or finished. One of the shows that fans would love to see getting this treatment is Showtime’s crime drama Dexter, and that might even happen one day if it’s up to the series’ star Michael C. Hall.

In a recent interview, Hall discussed the possibility of bringing back Dexter, saying that he is opened to the idea but that there are no plans for this to happen soon.

“Every time I’m asked about this I say, ‘never say never,’” Hall told The Daily Beast. “The next thing I know there’s an announcement on the internet saying ‘he’s going to do it again.’ The way that show ended gave no sense of closure for people and a lot of questions unanswered. He seems to be in this self-imposed exile, he certainly didn’t ride off into the sunset.”

Michael C. Hall also sad that there “different possibilities” have been explored in the past, but that neither of them materialized.

“There have been different possibilities that have come up. They haven’t felt worth doing. But there’s still something potentially there. But there are no immediate plans to do that,” the 47-year-old actor added.

Dexter premiered in 2006, focusing on forensic technician Dexter Morgan (Hall) who leads a secret life of a serial killer who hunts criminals who have managed to trick the justice system. The series was a hit with both the audience and the critics, receiving a total of 23 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.

Composer Daniel Licht, Famous for “Dexter,” Dies at 60 https://omgcheckitout.com/composer-daniel-licht-famous-dexter-dies-60/ Fri, 04 Aug 2017 19:30:23 +0000 http://omgcheckitout.com/?p=9048 Daniel Licht, who composed music for TV show Dexter, passed away on Wednesday aged 60 after a battle with cancer.

Licht worked on Dexter for all eight seasons, from 2006 to 2013. He has worked on numerous other projects including many films and series, but the quirky sound design for the serial-killer drama will remain his signature project.

Clyde Phillips, Dexter executive producer, said about Licht: “Dan was an incredibly talented musician and composer, but most of all, he was a dear friend. His passing leaves all of us a bit quieter, a bit sadder, and without the gift of his music and his love.”
