With the premiere date for season 8 drawing every closer, HBO has now revealed the first still from the upcoming series, featuring Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke as Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.

The pair is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and reveals that shooting season 8 was far more intense than the previous seven.

“It’s relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot,” Kit told EW during filming. “They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options.”

Emilia agreed, saying, “[Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.’ Everything feels more intense.”

Kit revealed that he refused to read the season’s scripts, instead choosing to find out his character’s fate during the cast table read.

At which point he cried.

Looks like tears are definitely coming…

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke and Charlie McDowell just announced that they’re dating. 

The mother of dragons turned 32 on Tuesday and it seems that she celebrated the happy day with her new beau. The two hinted to their burgeoning romance on Instagram, posting the same picture. The photo of two shadows, presumably her and her partner’s, in the sand, was captioned with “Well that was a birthday I won’t be forgetting in a while. ” 

While Clarke didn’t tag McDowell, he shared the same snap and captioned it with, “Happy birthday, E. ” The two liked each other’s photos, and well on the ‘gram that’s as good as an official confirmation.

McDowell is a filmmaker and comes from a very impressive family. He’s the 35-year-old son of actress Mary Steenburgen and legendary British actor, Malcolm McDowell.

The starlet, who has been starring on the show since she was 12, took to Instagram to bid farewell after wrapping her final day on set. 

Sharing a photo of herself wearing bloodied-up white sneakers, she wrote: “Goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come.” Following that caption came a series of hashtags include one that immediately caused rumors to whirl among GoT fans: #lastwomanstanding.

The cast are notoriously bound to keep storyline details under wraps and since the show is filmed out of sequence, some say that Williams’ post is not telling of how far her character will make it in the final season. 

This goodbye post comes just two weeks after Emilia Clarke shared her adieu from the show, writing, “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing ##lastseasonitis.

The eighth and final season of Thrones has been in production since October. The six-episode season is set to premiere in 2019.

Now, the new set of images shows what will the new character names be. The names were confirmed by Jeremy Conrad on Reddit.

This is not an official source, however, we can take some guesses. This is what we now know: Woody Harrelson’s character, a mentor to Han Solo, will be named Tobias Beckett. You’ve probably heard about a Kira/Kura appearing in the spin-off, but Emilia Clarke’s character will actually be named Qi’Ra. Harley Durst will appear as Moloch while Ian Kenny’s character will be named Rebolt. The last two characters revealed by the LEGO set are Thandie Newton’s Quay Tolsite and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s droid DD-BD.

Williams’ contribution to the music of the Star Wars franchise is impressive, composing the music for all eight installment of the Skywalker Saga. His latest musical creation is of course the music for The Last Jedi.

Williams confirmed in an interview with Variety that he will write the theme song for the latest standalone film about Han Solo. In charge of the film’s musical score, however, is composer John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon).

“The present plan is that I’m writing a theme for Han Solo, and John Powell is going to write the score, which he’ll do brilliantly,” the composer said. “His assignment is something I’m very happy about,” Williams said. “What I will do is offer this to John, and to [director] Ron Howard, and if all parties are happy with it, then I will be happy. … John will complete the score. He will write all the rest of the themes and all of the other material, which I’m going to be very anxious to hear.”

Starring as a young Han is Alden Ehrenreich, with Joonas Suotamo playing Chewbacca, Donald Glover playing Lando Calrissian, and Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke will play an unspecified role.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters May 25.
