]]>Netflix’s content chief Ted Sarandos announced at a USB conference that the show will indeed carry on with Robin Wright as the focal point, saying that the streaming giant is “excited to bring closure to fans.”
After production of the final season of the series was put on hold due to sexual harassment allegation made at Kevin Spacey, it is reported by E! News that the final season will consist of 8 episodes with production resuming in early 2018.
Pauline Micelli, MRC’s senior vice president of television business and legal affairs, explained the production’s long than usual hiatus.
“These last two months have tested and tried all of us in ways none could have foreseen. The one thing we have learned throughout this process is that this production is bigger than just one person and we could not be more proud to be associated with one of the most loyal and talented production cast and crews in this business.”
Looks like it is her turn now.

]]>In a joint statement to E! News, Netflix and producer Media Rights Capital announced that production on what was supposed to be the sixth and final season has been suspended due to the “current situation,” referring to recent allegations made about the show’s star Kevin Spacey by Anthony Rapp.
“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew.”
This statement was released a day after the streaming service and MRC announced that they “are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”
