]]>Minecraft is currently shooting in New Zealand, with Jared Hess serving as the director. Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer worked on the script for this project, drawing inspiration from the complex world featured in the original game, but plot details are currently being kept under wraps.
In addition to McKinnon and Clement, the star-studded cast of Minecraft will be led by Jason Momoa (Aquaman), who also serves as one of its executive producers, and it also includes Emma Myers (Wednesday), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy), and Jack Black (School of Rock).
SNL star Kate McKinnon most recently starred in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, and she’s currently in the running for a SAG Award with the rest of its cast. She’s also attached to Andrew Stanton’s sci-fi film In the Blink of an Eye.
As for Jemaine Clement, the New Zealand native and the member of the musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, is focusing on his work behind the camera as the creator of the hit FX comedy What We Do in the Shadows, in addition to being attached to James Cameron’s Avatar 3.

]]>Since joining SNL in 2012, McKinnon found even bigger fame with roles in the movies Ghostbusters, The Spy Who Dumped Me, and Bombshell. The returning sketch Close Encounter served as her sendoff and she had her last chance to say “Live From New York, It’s Saturday Night Live.”
Bryant also joined SNL in 2012 and she went on to lead her own Hulu comedy Shrill. She appeared in several skits throughout the night, but the Weekend Update segment alongside Bowen Yang served as her sendoff.
Davidson has been an SNL member since 2014 and he transformed into one of its biggest stars in the years to come. He said his goodbyes on Weekend Update and appeared in the parody rap song “Forgot About Lorne” alongside Eminem.
Mooney was one of the show’s most underrated supporting players since joining the show in 2013, but that didn’t stop him from going out in style in the “9 to 5” parody featuring the SNL veteran Fred Armisen.

Needless to say, Saturday Night Live opened many doors for her, and she’s ready to use that to her advantage. Instead of expending her contract for another year, Leslie Jones reportedly decided to focus on other opportunities and departed from the show after a total of five seasons.
If you’re heartbroken by Jones’s departure, we got some good news for you. The new season of SNL will still be amazing as Kate McKinnon isn’t leaving just yet. She extended her contract for another year, and we’re looking forward to her amazing impressions when this show comes back to NBC this fall.

The cast includes Charlize Theron (as Megyn Kelly), Nicole Kidman (as Gretchen Carlson) and John Lithgow (as Ailes). I, Tonya stars Margot Robbie and Allison Janney also recently joined the project. McKinnon will play an unnamed producer, but her role is not based on a real person.
McKinnon rose to prominence as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, and won two Emmys for her performance. Before being cast in Fair and Balanced, McKinnon played one of the lead roles in the Ghostbusters remake from 2016 and appeared alongside Mila Kunis in this year’s The Spy Who Dumped Me.
