]]>Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be in charge of panning the next movie in the series, and it seems Jack Sparrow won’t be a part of it. Disney’s film production chief Sean Bailey recently discussed the future of this hit series, and it seems the studio wants to go in a completely different direction.
“We want to bring in new energy and vitality. I love the [Pirates] movies but part of the reason Paul and Rhett are so interesting is that we want to give it a kick in the pants. And that’s what I’ve tasked them with,” explained Bailey.
Making a Johnny Depp-free Pirates movie may seem like a risky move, but it’s important to keep in mind the last two films bombed with the critics. Dead Men Tell No Tales also made less money on the box office than any of the other installments.
It will be refreshing to see a new creative team trying to breathe new life into this franchise – even if it means Jack Sparrow won’t be back for the ride.

]]>Studio executives have recently met with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the masterminds behind Deadpool. Before writing the films about Marvel’s edgy superhero, this screenwriting duo gave us the delightful horror comedy Zombieland.
Their schedule seems jam-packed right now since they’re busy working on a sequel of the hit zombie movie and developing a script for action flick 6 Underground, starring Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds.
This team definitely has what it takes to breathe a new life into Pirates Of The Caribbean, but it’s still unclear why Disney wants to go down this road. The last few movies in the franchise didn’t do great with the critics, but they were success stories from a financial standpoint.
We’re yet to find out if this reboot will be a total overhaul of the franchise or a soft continuation from the previous films. It’s also unclear if Johnny Depp will return to the role of rum-loving pirate Jack Sparrow.

]]>This might be the 40-year-old actor’s first time starring in a TV series, however, he is no stranger to the fantasy genre, recently starring alongside Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The actor revealed in the past that his 6-year-old son Flynn is a huge fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, so it’ll be interesting to see what he’ll think of Carnival Show.
In the studio’s statement, Carnival Show is a “fantasy-noir set in a neo-Victorian city,” and is aiming for a 2019 fall release.
