What better way to end 2018 than remembering the incredible year the royal family had.

The past year was huge for the British monarchy with two royal weddings, a royal baby, the Queen’s celebration of the 65th coronation anniversary and Prince Charles celebrating his 70th birthday.

Two royal couples tied the knot in 2018 — Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank. The weddings both took place at St. George’s Chapel in May and October respectively. Both were stunning affairs with a slew of A-listers in attendance.

Do doubt April is going to be pretty busy for the Royal Family.

While Kate Middleton is due to welcome her third child with Prince William, the Queen isn’t holding back with the birthday plans.

The lineup of stars ready to celebrate in a live music event is quite impressive. Musicians performing for Her Majesty include Shawn Mendes, Kylie Minogue, Craig David, Sir Tom Jones, Shaggy, Sting, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Anne Marie.

The event will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will air on the queen’s actual birthday on Saturday, April 21. According to the Royal Family’s official Twitter, the BBC will broadcast the concert, which will be attended by “many members of the Royal Family.”

It’s unknown whether Meghan Markle will attend, ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry. Lucky for her, she won’t miss out on all the celebrations as she will be a full-fledged member of the royal family before the Queen’s second birthday celebration in June.

2018 marks a very special anniversary for the Royal family.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation. The ceremony, which took place in 1953 at Westminster Abbey, crowned Elizabeth queen and head of the monarch at the age of 25.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Queen will take part in a new BBC One and Royal Collection Trust series. The monarch will make a rare appearance as she talked with royal commentator Alastair Bruce about her coronation. She shared memories from the day that changed her life.

“I’ve seen one coronation, and been the recipient in the other, which is pretty remarkable,” the Queen said, witnessing her father’s ascension to the thrown at the age of 11. According to BBC, the series opens with an hour-long episode about the Crown Jewels and the coronation ceremony. It will also feature various accounts from participants in the ceremony including a maid of honor and a choirboy.

BBC’s director of content, Charlotte Moore, said: “In her own words, the Queen will bring to life the enduring symbolic importance of the coronation ceremonies for modern audiences to enjoy.”

The Coronation will be screened on BBC on 14 January.
