]]>The Movie Critic was supposed to be set in 1977 California and center on the cynical movie critic who used to write for an adult magazine. This film was supposed to reunite Tarantino with Brad Pitt, the star of Inglourious Basterds and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in addition to starring several actors from the director’s previous films.
Despite being one of the buzziest new projects on the block, The Movie Critic is no longer happening. Tarantino reportedly had a change of heart after rewriting the script and decided to scrap it entirely.
Whatever movie Tarantino decides to do next it will be his tenth and most likely final project since he’s been dropping hints about his potential retirement for years.
“I don’t believe you should stay onstage until people are begging you to get off. I like the idea of leaving them wanting a bit more. I do think directing is a young man’s game, and I like the idea of an umbilical cord connection from my first to my last movie,” he told Deadline in 2014.

]]>Pitt and Tarantino go a long way – he led his alternative history epic Inglourious Basterds before reuniting for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, for which Pitt won his first acting Oscar. He also made one of his early film appearances in the 1993 cult classic True Romance, which was written by Tarantino.
It’s been rumored that Tarantino’s next film will be based on the life of the New Yorker’s Pauline Kael, but he dispelled those speculations. The Movie Critic will be set in 70s California and center on a guy who used to write movie reviews for an adult magazine.
“He wrote about mainstream movies and he was the second-string critic. I think he was a very good critic. He was as cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic,” Tarantino told Deadline.
In addition to The Movie Critic, Pitt is attached to several more high-profile projects, including Jon Watts’s action thriller Wolfs and Joseph Kosinski’s sports drama set in the world of Formula 1.

This has been a big year for 56-year-old Tarantino. His last film, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, opened just last month. Its opening marks a career-best for Tarantino earning $16.8 million on its opening day.

This prestigious festival holds a special place in Tarantino’s heart, and it’s the most fitting spot for the world premiere of his latest film. After all, Cannes was the place where he won Palme d’Or for his cult classic Pulp Fiction exactly 25 years ago.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will also be a part of the main competition, but regular movie-goers will have to wait until July 26 to see it in the theaters. The star-studded cast of this epic includes the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm that the Hollywood director and Israeli model have said their ‘I do’s’ in a private wedding ceremony Wednesday night at The Peninsula Beverly Hills.
“The ceremony was inside in front of a small group of family and friends. There were only about 20 people and it was very intimate and private,” a source told E! News.
55-year-old Tarantino opted for a classic black suit, while Pick wore a white silk strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline by Dana Harel. She completed the look with a tiara and veil.
”Quentin and Daniella held hands and kissed everywhere they went. Eventually they left and were take to Beverly Hills for a dinner reception,“ the source added.
The newlyweds met in 2009 when Tarantino was promoting Inglourious Basterds in Israel. News of their engagement surfaced in July of last year, after the director reportedly popped the question in LA. Back then Pick wrote on Instagram, “THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE. We’re so excited and happy to celebrate our engagement here in ISRAEL. Thanks for your kind wishes. We feel truly blessed.”

The duo will be joining the already announced cast including Leonardo DiCaprio who will play Rick Dalton, former star of a western TV series and Brad Pitt who will play his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. Back in April Tarantino said that DiCaprio and Pitt will be “the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford.”
Margot Robbie, Luke Perry, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Keith Jefferson, and Nicholas Hammond will round out the cast.
It has been quite a year for Hawke who has been tapped to appear in season three of the hit supernatural series Stranger Things and the TV miniseries Little Women.
According to Variety Dunham will be playing a character named Gypsy and Hawke has been cast as the fictional character Flower Child. This will be Dunham’s first major feature film role.

]]>Even though the project has been kept under wraps, it has been confirmed that its leading actors are Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. Reportedly, Tarantino has said of the two that they will be “the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford.”
Variety reports that DiCaprio set to play Rick Dalton, former star of a western TV series, while Pitt will portray his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. Margot Robbie is in talks to play Tate and Burt Reynolds is in negotiations to play George Spahn, who rented his house out to Manson and his followers in the months leading up to the murders.
Now comes the news of the possibility of Timothy Elephant’s involvement in the project, that is said to be similar in style to Tarantino’s iconic Pulp Fiction. However, it is unknown what role the star of Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet will portray.
“It takes place at the height of the counterculture explosion,” said Tarantino. “It takes place at the time of the hippie revolution, and it takes place at the height of new Hollywood.”

“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was 7 years old,” Tarantino said in Sony’s release. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”
The director has reportedly asked Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie to play Tate, who was murdered by Charles Manson’s cult members. The actress and wife of director Roman Polanski was pregnant at the time she was killed.
The movie is set to release worldwide on August 9, 2019, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the day that the Family Manson committed the brutal murders of Tate and five of her friends.
Tarantino has previously worked with DiCaprio in Django Unchained, which earned five Oscar nominations. Pitt starred in Inglorious Basterds, which was nominated for eight Academy Awards.
