Rachel Weisz has been tapped to star in the missing boy thriller, Lanny.

The feature is set to adapt Max Porter’s novel of the same name to the big screen. The novel, which was released just this month, is the follow-up to the author’s critically acclaimed Grief Is A Thing With Wings.

The book was optioned by the Oscar-winning actress alongside The Bureau and BBC Films. Weisz is also set to produce alongside The Bureau’s Tristan Goligher.

“With such a peerless combination of talent involved this was an easy decision to make,” said agent Lesley Thorne at Aitken Alexander Associates. “We can’t wait to see how they realize Max’s unique storytelling onscreen.”

Goligher added: “We all fell in love with this wonderful novel and can’t wait to find the right writer and director to bring this distinctive, wise and moving story to the screen.”

Lanny is set in a village sixty miles outside London. “It’s no different from many other villages in England: one pub, one church, red-brick cottages, council cottages and a few bigger houses dotted about… This village belongs to the people who live in it and to the people who lived in it hundreds of years ago… But it also belongs to Dead Papa Toothwort, [who’s] listening, intently, for a mischievous, enchanting boy whose parents have recently made the village their home. Lanny.”

The mystery is finally over — it’s a girl!

Congratulations to Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig who welcomed their first child together earlier this month.

The 48-year-old actress announced the pregnancy in April, telling The New York Times, “Daniel and I are so happy. We’re going to have a little human. We can’t wait to meet him or her. It’s all such a mystery.”

The two got married in 2011 in an intimate NYC ceremony, where they also currently live. Weisz already has an 11-year-0ld son with Darren Aronofsy and Craign has a 25-year-old daughter Ella with actress Fiona Loudon.

According to sources close to the coulee, Weisz and Craig are “very happy” with their new bundle of joy. The three were even seen for the first time since the birth on Wednesday in New York. The two doting parents carried their baby girl around the Big Apple in a baby carrier, while sporting casual looks — Weisz looked fabulous in a nude Burberry trench coat over a white shirt, slouchy T-shirt and leggings, while Craig opted for a grey T-shirt, indigo jeans and a basketball cap.

Congrats, you two!

The Favourite is one of the most anticipated films of the upcoming Oscar season, and the more we learn about it the more excited we get. A מew trailer and poster of this period drama are here and they offer a better look at the battle royale we’re going to witness in a few months.

The Favourite is set in early 18th century England, a time of turmoil and war… and royal intrigue. A frail Queen Anne rules the country, but she needs help of her most loyal friend Lady Sarah to make all the important decisions while her health derails.

Sarah’s privileged position is threatened when a new servantת Abigailת comes to court and catches Queen’s eye. Her arrival puts everything Sarah’s worked for in jeopardy and two women end up competing for affection of the emotionally volatile Queen.

The Favourite stars Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, and if the experts are correctת all three actresses will be in the mix once awards season rolls along. Their performances received rave reviews at festivals in Telluride and Venice, where this project premiered last week. Variety described it as “perfectly cut diamond of a movieת” but we’ll wait until November 23 to see if it lives up to the buzz.

Congratulations are in order for new parents, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz! Their small family became a little bit bigger after the Oscar-winning actress gave birth to their first child together.

The couple started dating in 2010 and tied the knot a few months later. They were extremely private from the very start, and their wedding ceremony also happened under a veil of secrecy. The two said “Yes” at a private ceremony in New York in 2011 and only four guests attended the wedding, including their kids from previous marriages.

Before welcoming their baby girl together, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz already learned the ropes of parenthood. Weisz was previously engaged to filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, with whom she has one son Henry. Craig was also a proud dad before marrying Weisz. He dated actress Fiona London, who gave birth to their daughter Ella.

Despite the fact she rarely talks about her personal life, Weisz couldn’t contain her joy during an interview with the New York Times this April. Oscar winner said they’re very happy to become parents of a little baby girl and that they can’t wait to meet her.

After just six months of dating, the couple married in 2011. They both have children from their previous relationships: Weisz has an 11-year-old son, Henry Aronofsky, with director Darren Aronofsky, and Craig has a 25-year-old daughter, Ella Craig, with ex Fiona Loudon.

Before meeting Craig, Weisz told the Evening Standard that she “never thought” she’d get married, but now she says, that she’s “very happy being married.”
