]]>The announcement that Bell is to become the first-ever host of the SAG awards was announced Monday by the award show’s executive producer Kathy Connell.
“We are delighted to have Kristen Bell as the first-ever host of the SAG Awards. This has been a year in which assumptions have been challenged, stereotypes have been shattered, and precedents have been broken. We decided to capture the cultural mood by casting aside one of our own traditions, and we’re thrilled to have such a talented performer like Bell help us do so.”
Bell, who already have some hosting experience, said she is very excited about the gig.
“I am honored to be part of the SAG Awards, and am a little nervous about being its first-ever host. I’m so glad that I’ll be in the company of my fellow actors, many of whom I’ve worked with before, so I know they’ll be warm and supportive. It’s going to be an amazing night.”
The SAG is one of the largest entertainment collectives in the industry. The 2017 nominees will be announced December 13. Watch the video shared by Bell in celebration of the history-making gig.

]]>But in 2016, Winona’s career was reborn when she starred in Netflix’ instant hit Stranger Things, her first ever TV series.
Now the 45-year-old actress, who is preparing for the second season of the show, opened up to Marie Claire’s November issue about the revival of her career, dubbed as the “Winonaissance,” and how Stranger Things affected her emotionally.
“It’s so overwhelming. I don’t know what it’s like for really famous people… I keep hearing that people are dressing up like me [her character, Joyce Byers]. I’m like, ‘What?'” Winona said referring to the attention she gets after the show’s first season.
The Girl Interrupted star admitted in the interview that she was being bullied at school in her teenage years despite being famous.
“I remember thinking, ‘Ooh, [Beetlejuice] is like the number-one movie. This is going to make things great at school.’ But it made things worse. They called me a witch.”
She also discussed her break from Hollywood, which she calls “My hiatus” or “Whatever they want to call it.” She said, “I did take time off. It was mutual, I think. I just went through a tough time.”
She got a break eventually after her role as a distressed mother in the sci-fi series. The actress found it difficult accessing the emotions required for the role so she asked her own mother to help her dig deeper into her character as Joyce Bryers, a single mother who has a 12-year-old son who went missing.
“I said, ‘Mom, if every bit of logic is telling you your kid is gone, would you still [refuse to believe it]?’ And she said, ‘Absolutely.’ I said, ‘What if they show you a body?’
She said, ‘If you don’t see it happen, you don’t believe it.’ It’s a weird, primal thing. But I may have gone too far: it seemed like every day I was crying or freaking out,” she explained.
Winona’s role in the Netflix series has gained positive reviews and more acting projects. Earlier this year, the show earned the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Ryder is set to star in Destination Wedding in 2018, opposite Keanu Reeves, according to E! News.

]]>The Banshees and Everything Everywhere have both been nominated in the ceremony’s main category: outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture – along with Babylon, The Fabelmans, and Women Talking.
The TV field is equally competitive and Ozark is leading the way with a total of four nominations, followed by Better Call Saul, Barry, and Only Murders in the Building with three nods each.
The 2023 SAG Awards will take place on February 26 and the ceremony will be streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel after the Screen Actor Guild struck an exclusive multi-year deal with the streamer.
Netflix’s head of global TV Bela Bajaria said they’re excited that more fans around the world will be able to celebrate these talented actors thanks to this partnership.
“As we begin to explore live streaming on Netflix, we look forward to partnering with SAG-AFTRA to elevate and expand this special ceremony as a global live event in 2024 and the years to come,” said Bajaria in a statement.

Troy Kotsur also managed to pick up the award for his supporting turn in this movie. The list of winners in the individual categories included best actor Will Smith (King Richard), best actress Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), and best-supporting actress Ariana DeBose (West Side Story).
When it comes to the TV categories, the ensemble awards went to clear favorites—Succession for drama and Ted Lasso for comedy. Despite their triumph in the main field, Squid Game was the biggest winner of the night with three awards, including best actor and actress in a drama (Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-Yeon), and best stunt ensemble.
This year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on February 27th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

]]>The post Kristen Bell named first-ever host of the Screen Actors Guild Awards appeared first on OMG Check It Out !.

News.
