News of the casting, as well as the show’s official season count, was annoyed by Peter Morgan in a statement Friday. 

“I’m absolutely thrilled to confirm Imelda Staunton as Her Majesty The Queen for the fifth and final season, taking The Crown into the 21st Century. Imelda is an astonishing talent and will be a fantastic successor to Claire Foy and Olivia Colman,” Morgan said. “At the outset I had imagined The Crown running for six seasons but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop. I’m grateful to Netflix and Sony for supporting me in this decision.”

“I have loved watching The Crown from the very start. As an actor, it was a joy to see how both Claire Foy and Olivia Colman brought something special and unique to Peter Morgan’s scripts. Season four of The Crown is said to track the 1980s, yet it is not clear what period the fifth—and now final—season will cover.

Just over a month after season 3 made its debut on the streaming platform, Amazon has renewed Goliath for a fifth and final season. 

The series was created by David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro and follows McBride, a disgraced lawyer who gets a case that could bring him redemption or at least revenge on the firm which expelled him.

“I’m thrilled we get another season to tell Billy McBride’s story. Our latest case tackles a timely global crisis that impacts an entire generation, and we will be adding some exceptional talent to our already amazing cast,” said series executing producer Lawrence Trilling in a statement. “I’m so grateful to everyone at Amazon for their support of the show. While the upcoming season may be its last, the Netflix series just got bigger with six additional episodes. 

News of the expanded send-off handed out by the streaming giant to the supernatural crime drama was announced Friday via a tweet from its See What’s Next account.

“Lucifer Season 5 just got a HELL of a lot better — and bigger,” it reads. “We’ve added six more hours, for a grand total of 16 episodes!”

Lucifer first aired on Fox, where it ran for three seasons before being axed by the network. It was then picked up by the streaming giant for a fourth season and renewed for a fifth and final installment just last month.

“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for … letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms. Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!” co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson said of the original final-season pickup.

The acclaimed reboot of Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy that launched on the streaming giant February 2018 will be back for two more seasons.

News of the renewal was confirmed via the show’s official social media with a super cute clip posted on Instagram (below).

Season 4 of the series will be back in Kansas City on July 19. Season 5 will begin production next week and will debut sometime in 2020. 

The unscripted series stars Bobby Berk (interior design), Karamo Brown (culture), Tan France (fashion), Antoni Porowski (food and wine), and Jonathan Van Ness (grooming).

The first three seasons have averaged a 91% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes per Variety. 

The fab-five are also featured in Taylor Swift’s new musical video for You Need to Calm Down, which dropped Monday.

Multiple outlets confirm that Tony Dalton has been promoted to series regular on the acclaimed Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul. The permanent gig will kick into action in the forthcoming Season 5 of the show. 

Dalton made his debut as villainous drug cartel member Lalo Salamanca, and nephew of Saul in the last three episodes of Season 4 of the show. According to Deadline, Lalo was first referenced in the season two episode of Breaking Bad when Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) was first introduced. Now, fans will get to see his villainous role expanding.

Better Call Saul, like its predecessor, received considerable critical acclaim. The series stars Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Over three seasons it has earned 23 Emmy Award nominations, 3 Golden Globe Award nominations, 2 Writers Guild Awards, 3 Critics’ Choice Awards, a Television Critics Association Award and 2 AFI Awards.

Netflix has announced that it has renewed Fuller House for a fifth and final season. The news were announced with a farewell message on the show’s social media. The video features clips from the show and ends with a promise from the actors that they’re saving the best for last. 

Before the streaming giant renewed the revival for another season, Candace Cameron, who starred as DJ Tanner told E! Online, “If the audience wanted it and the networks wanted it, I would do it forever. I love her. I love our Fuller House family, and we really are family off screen. According to multiple outlets Syfy has given the green light to season five of the critically acclaimed fantasy drama series.

Paquin has been tapped to star as the adult version of Joanie Lockhart, the daughter of Alison (Ruth Wilson) and Cole (Joshua Jackson). Paquin took to Instagram to share the exciting news, writing, YAY!! I’m so EXCITED!!!”

According to Variety who has confirmed the news, season five will jump forward in time multiple decades as Joanie returns to Montauk to investigate the death of her mother. In season four, Alison’s death, which first looked like suicide, was later revealed to be murder committed by her boyfriend, Ben (Ramon Rodriguez).

The news of Paquin’s casting comes after it was reported earlier this week that Claes Bang has joined the show as Sasha Mann, Helen’s new love interest. Also set to guest star in season five are Emily Browning, Omar Metwally, Russell Hornsby, John Doman, Kathleen Chalfant, Max Fowler, Abigail Dylan Harrison, and Jake Siciliano. 

Unconfirmed still is Jackson’s return to the series’ final season. According to sources, if Jackson does come back for season five, “it would only be for one episode.”

The Affair returns to Showtime returns in 2019.
