]]>Amell will portray Ted Black, who left his life as a New York federal prosecutor behind to represent the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. He joined forces with his old buddy, Stuart Lane, to build a law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law in Los Angeles, but this series kicks off 15 years later, during a crisis point for their company.
Casting for supporting players is underway, but Ted Black will be “surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives”, according to the show’s official logline.
NBC started plotting a potential spin-off set in the Suits universe after the original series experienced a true boom on streaming services last year. Aaron Korsh, creator and writer of the original series, is coming back as the executive producer of this spin-off, while Victoria Mahoney has been tapped to direct and executive produce the pilot.

]]>When Arrow premiered in 2012, it was the first Arrowverse show and its success spawned several successful spin-offs over the years. Amell reprised his role as Oliver Queen on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman, in addition to appearing on several episodes of The Flash.
Given the role that he played in the formation of the Arrowverse and the fact that Grant Gustin played Barry Allen on Arrow before getting his standalone show, it felt fitting to bring Amell back.
“Everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash. We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see Grant and Stephen saving the world together again,” said the show’s executive producer Eric Wallace.
The Flash is one of the very few Arrowverse shows that the CW has in store following the cancelation of Legends of Tomorrow and Batswoman last year. Its ninth and final season will feature a total of 13 episodes and it will premiere on February 8.
