]]>The Flash will see Barry Allen travel back in time and do all it takes to change the future and prevent his mother’s death. His attempt to save his family goes sideways because he ends up altering the past and finds himself stuck in the alternative universe where General Zod is still in power and superheroes are nowhere to be found.
Ezra Miller will play the titular hero in this project, returning to the role previously played in Justice League, after making brief cameos in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad.
The supporting cast will include Michael Keaton and Ban Affleck as two different versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman, in addition to Michael Shannon, Sasha Calle, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, and Antje Traue.
The Flash was hit with several pandemic-related delays and post-production setbacks, especially in the face of major director changes, and it will finally hit the theaters on June 16.

]]>When Arrow premiered in 2012, it was the first Arrowverse show and its success spawned several successful spin-offs over the years. Amell reprised his role as Oliver Queen on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman, in addition to appearing on several episodes of The Flash.
Given the role that he played in the formation of the Arrowverse and the fact that Grant Gustin played Barry Allen on Arrow before getting his standalone show, it felt fitting to bring Amell back.
“Everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash. We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see Grant and Stephen saving the world together again,” said the show’s executive producer Eric Wallace.
The Flash is one of the very few Arrowverse shows that the CW has in store following the cancelation of Legends of Tomorrow and Batswoman last year. Its ninth and final season will feature a total of 13 episodes and it will premiere on February 8.

]]>In an official statement announcing the show’s final season, executive producer/showrunner Eric Wallace reflected on the journey of making this show for amazing nine seasons and thanked everyone who joined him for the ride.
“As we get ready to honor the show’s incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to say thank you to our phenomenal cast, writers, producers, and crew over the years who helped make The Flash such an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world,” said Wallace.
The Flash premiered on The CW in 2014, with Grant Gustin playing the titular role of Barry Allen, who gains superhuman speed after being struck by lightning in his lab and becomes a superhero known as The Flash. The series became huge ratings hit for the network, and it helped establish the Arrowverse following the success of its parent show Arrow.
The final season of The Flash will premiere in 2023 and feature a total of 13 episodes. The premiere date is yet to be announced, but it’s expected to take place weeks ahead of the release of the upcoming movie The Flash starring Ezra Miller.
