The Flight Attendant followed the adventures of an alcoholic flight attendant Cassie, whose self-destructive behavior gets her in trouble after she wakes up hangover next to a dead passenger she hooked up with the night before.

The first season saw her trying to trace back her memories and prove she’s not the killer, while Season 2 shifted the gears and showed her trying to get a fresh start – while working as an asset for the CIA.

In addition to Cuoco, who also served as the show’s executive producer, The Flight Attendant starred Zosia Mamet, Griffin Matthews, Deniz Akdeniz, Rosie Perez, Michiel Huisman, Colin Woodell, T. R. Knight, and Michelle Gomez.

The Flight Attendant showrunner Steve Yockey confirmed its cancelation and said that the reception from viewers and critics alike was pretty stunning.

“Our unorthodox spectacle of a show really found people. As we all move on to new projects, those two seasons of television and the incredible team of professionals behind them will always stay at the top of my list,” said Yockey in a statement.

Cuoco, who also serves as executive producer in addition to playing the lead role, said she’s thrilled to continue her partnership with showrunner Steve Yockey, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. after the renewal was announced. “To say that I am elated would be an understatement! The positive response to our show has surpassed all of our expectations and I’m so proud of the entire team behind its success,” stated the actress.

The Flight Attendant premiered on HBO Max on November 26th and received generally positive reviews. In addition to Cuoco, the series also stars Michiel Huisman, Zosia Mamet, T.R. Knight, and Michelle Gomez.

Per the official description, the one-hour series follows flight attendant Cassie (Cuoco) as she wakes in a hotel room hungover in Dubai with a dead body next to her. “Afraid to call the police, she continues her morning as if nothing happened, joining the other flight attendants and pilots traveling to the airport. In New York, she is met by FBI agents who question her about her recent layover in Dubai. Still unable to piece the night together, she begins to wonder if she could be the killer.”

Huisman will play Alex, a charming, wealthy businessman, who runs into some serious bad luck in Bangkok and ends up sticking with Cassie (Cuoco) longer than expected. 

Filming is set to begin this fall.

The Big Bang Theory star launched Norman Productions. Named in honor of her dog, the new production company was launched in partnership with Warner Bros. TV, the company behind the actress’ hit CBS show.

Cuoco is to star in the company’s first project titled The Flight Attendant. The plot of the limited series based on the Chris Bohjalian novel centers on a flight attendant who wakes up in a hotel room in Dubai, next to a dead man, with no recollection of the night before.

31-year-old Cuoco took to Instagram and shared the exciting news with her fans as she wrote “We cannot wait to start work on our first project #theflightattendant #yesnormanproductions.”
