The action drama follows a former FBI agent specializing in stolen antiquities who reluctantly teams with an art thief to catch a terrorist who funds his activities via stolen treasure. 

Matt Barr and Sofia Pernas star as the series’ leads. Michael James Shaw, Katia Winter, James Callis, Oded Fehr, Alicia Coppola, and Mark Gagliardi round out the cast. 

“Blood & Treasure is a fun, escapist adventure with comedic elements filmed in multiple locales around the world that has been a great performer and a wonderful addition to our summer schedule,” Amy Reisenbach, CBS executive vp current programs, said Wednesday in a statement. “We’ve heard the story pitch for season two and look forward to seeing all-new exploits from Russia to Southeast Asia next year.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series, which hails from Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia, has pulled in steady yet unspectacular ratings.

The comedienne and host announced the exciting news to her audience and fans Wednesday. 

“From the beginning I said this show was going to be like a relationship,” DeGeneres said. “We’ve been through the good, the bad, the Fifty Shades of Grey phase. It’s been a lot of fun and 16 years is a pretty good run. Sometimes in a relationship, you need to take a break. But I don’t. You’re stuck with me. I just signed for three more years.”

The show is currently in its 16th season. Extended for three more years means that it will continue its run through 2022.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the streaming service is developing a series based on King’s 1984 novel The Eyes of the Dragon. Hulu beat Apple in auction for the rights.

The pilot was penned by Lego Batman Movie scribe, Ghrahame-Smith. He will also serve as the first episode’s showrunner. Smith, together with his KatzSmith Productions partner David Katzenberg will executive produce.

“The goal for this series is to feel unlike any Stephen King adaptation before, with this rich underlying source material, and the only true fantasy book he wrote that has kings and swords and princesses,” Grahame-Smith said. “We will honor the spirit of the book and the legacy.”

The Eyes of the Dragon is an epic tale that follows two boys who are next in line to rule the realm of Delain after the death of their dragon-slaying father.

The project follows a line of forthcoming adaptations of King’s works, including Pet Sematary, It: Chapter Two, The Stand, Salem’s Lot, The Tommyknockers, and Lisey’s Story.

News that Fox has greenlit another season comes weeks following its Season Two finale. The second season of The Orville did well, averaging 3.16 million total live viewers and a 0.75 in the 18-49 demographic.

Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman and Jessica Szohr. It was created and written by MacFarlane, who also executive produces alongside Brannon Braga, David A. Goodman, Jason Clark and Jon Cassar also star. 

The Orville joins Empire, The Resident, 9-1-1, Last Man Standing, and animated series Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy and The Simpsons on Fox’s 2019-20 season schedule.

The Murphy Brown revival has been canceled by CBS after one season. 

The Candice Bergen-led series made its return to the screen almost 20 years after the original run ended. But the revival did not fair well, and the sitcom’s ratings were disappointing. 

According to TVLine over its 13-episode run, which wrapped up in December, it ranked last among CBS’ eight sitcoms.

Season 11 of Murphy Brown saw Bergen reprise her role as the famous investigative journalist and TV anchor. She reunited with her old gang: Corky Sherwood (Faith Ford), Frank Fontana (Joe Regalbuto) and their former news producer Miles Silverberg (Grant Shaud).

The cabler announced the pick-up early on Wednesday in a press release.

Twenties was created and written by Waithe when she was in her early 20s. It was originally developed at TBS as a pilot, but after it passed it found a new home at Viacom’s BET.

The eight-episode half-hour series follows the adventures of a queer black girl, Hattie, and her two straight best friends, Marie and Nia, who spend most of their days talking ‘ish’ and chasing their dreams.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has  put in a series order for a Blind Date reboot. The modern take will include updating the show for 2019 “with social media trends and diverse couples of all ethnicities, ages and sexual orientations.”

Check out Bravo’s description of the reboot: “Dating has always been an awkward, contentious, sexy, and hilarious adventure. However, the magic of a blind date has gone away, replaced by the algorithms of dating apps, which have eroded dating into a casual meet-up to exchange preconceived notions. Sometimes you’re better off just going in blind!”

“Each half-hour episode will feature strangers who are paired up and sent off on a blind date. The cameras will follow every move as a narrator weaves in hilarious commentary with the help of graphics, animations and thought bubbles to ensure nothing goes unsaid.”
