While Tom Cruise is currently on the press tour for The Mummy, he’s talking about the Top Gun sequel all the time!
Yeah, it seems like it’s really happening. Cruise explained that the new movie will not be called simply Top Gun 2, but will include his character’s name – Maverick.
According to the actor, Top Gun: Maverick will be very similar to the 1986 original. He said:
“It’s going to be a competition film, like the first one. And it’s going to be in the same vein, the same tone as the first one, but a progression for Maverick.”
He didn’t reveal more details about the upcoming film.
