Zoë Kravitz has made a lot of great career moves in the last few years, but it seems we still haven’t seen the best of her. The Big Little Lies actress just landed the lead role in TV reboot of critically acclaimed film High Fidelity.
Based on a classic novel by Nick Hornby, High Fidelity centers on a record shop owner taking a look at his top five worst breakups – including the one in progress. The adaptation hit the big screen back in 2000 when John Cusack played the lead.
the previous adaptation focused on music loving everyman Rob, but things will be a little bit different this time around. Kravitz will tackle the role of a record shop owner and compulsive list-maker that once belonged to Cusack.
In addition to playing the lead, the Fantastic Beasts actress will also serve as executive producer. This project is very close to her heart since her mom Lisa Bonet appeared in the 2000 adaptation.
The gender-flipped remake of High Fidelity will run for 10 episodes on Disney’s upcoming streaming service. It will launch in late 2019 and feature a mix of original content and works from its archives.
