Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes are attached to this project, which hails from director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland. Sony Pictures is plotting 28 Years Later as a part of a trilogy, and they’ve already tapped Nia DaCosta to direct the next film in the franchise.

]]>Swift is no stranger to a good breakup album, and many of her previous releases inspired fan theories and wild speculations. That was also the case with The Tortured Poets Department, and many expected it to be inspired by the fallout of her long-term relations with Joe Alwyn, but Swift has given us something else entirely.
The album’s first track, the Post Malone collaboration “Fortnight”, chronicles a brief but powerful relationship that was always doomed to fail, and the rest of Tortured Poets follows a similar formula.
Instead of focusing on a single relationship, Swift explores heartbreak in all its messy stages, walking a fine line between viciousness and vulnerability. Tortured Poets is at its strongest when Swift is ready to bear her soul, and that’s why “So Long, London” stands out as one of its most powerful tracks.
Like many of the best songs on this album and its companion piece The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, this song is produced by Aaron Dessner and not the album’s main producer Jack Antonoff. They had a pretty fruitful creative partnership for years, but Antonoff’s synth-pop tendencies don’t seem to be doing much for Swift’s sound anymore.
This is one of the biggest problems with Tortured Poets, which often sounds like an echo of her previous albums while lacking their best qualities. It has the vindictiveness of Reputation (“The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”), the synth-pop sound of Midnights (“My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys”), storytelling strengths of Folklore and Evermore (“Clara Bow”), while still failing to measure up to any of them.
Like most of Swift’s recent albums, Tortured Poets will top the charts, break a few records – maybe even win a Grammy or two. That doesn’t change the fact it’s one of her messiest outputs in recent memory, but it’s fun to see she’s not afraid to step on the dark side, now that she’s got nothing to lose.

]]>Sethu’s name was first mentioned in connection with Doctor Who in January when rumors about Millie Gibson’s departure made the headlines. BBC finally decided to address the speculations, and it turns out Sethu won’t be replacing Gibson, but joining Gatwa as his second companion, instead.
Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies confirmed Sethu’s casting and revealed she already started shooting her scenes alongside Gatwa and Gibson.
“I first worked with Varada on a BBC production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and it’s a joy to welcome her on board the TARDIS… We’ve got Ncuti, Millie, and Varada fighting side by side–we need all three because the stakes are higher than ever,” said Davies in a statement.
Varada Sethu previously worked with Disney+ on the Star Wars series Andor, and she feels like the luckiest person in the world to join Doctor Who. She thanked the show’s fans for welcoming her with open arms and added she’s looking forward to going on adventures with Gatwa and Gibson.

As Hollywood starlets drop dead one by one, the stakes are higher than ever, and Maxine must overcome a threat she’s never faced before.
“It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures,” Goth previously told Variety.
In addition to Goth in the lead role, the star-studded cast of MaXXXine also includes Kevin Bacon, Bobby Cannavale, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Lily Collins, Halsey, and Giancarlo Esposito. A24 will release it in theaters on July 5.

The first trailer for Kinds of Kindness doesn’t reveal too much about the film’s plot, but it gives us an idea about its tone and a glimpse of its star-studded cast. In addition to Stone, this film also stars Poor Things’ Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley, plus Hong Chau (The Whale), Joe Alwyn (The Favourite), Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81), and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria).
Lanthimos directed the film and co-wrote the script alongside his frequent collaborator Efthimis Filippou (The Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer). Kinds of Kindness will be released on June 21 via Searchlight Pictures.

Two new trailers tease the clash between the Green and Black Council, two opposing sides of the Targaryen family fighting for the Iron Throne. The “Green” trailer sees Alicent Hightower trying to help her son King Aegon prove to the world he’s one true king. His half-sister Queen Rhaenyra plots her revenge after he stole her rightful place on the Iron Throne in the “Black” trailer.
The show’s second season will star Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. It will feature eight new episodes, set to debut on HBO on June 16.

The Acolyte will take us a century before The Phantom Menace, and it centers on a respected Jedi master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), who must face a former Padawan Mae (Amandla Stenberg), a dangerous warrior from his past. They travel down a dark path, facing forces much more sinister than they ever anticipated.
In addition to Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) and Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) in the lead roles, this Disney+ series will also star Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Dafne Keen (Logan), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Single Drunk Female), and Carrie-Anne Moss (Matrix).
The Acolyte was created for Disney+ by the Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland. The first two episodes of the eight-episode series will premiere on June 4.

]]>This Is Spinal Tap 2 kicked off production four decades after the original film came out in 1984, and it will see Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer return to their respective roles from the first film.
The sequel will see Spinal Tap, England’s loudest and most punctual band, reunite for one final concert after a 15-year hiatus. Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Garth Brooks previously agreed to make cameos in this film, and they’ll be joined by Questlove and Trisha Yearwood.
The sequel will also embrace the mocumentary style of the original film, and the director Rob Reiner will be back as the documentarian Martin “Marty” DiBergi.
“I recently spoke to Marty DiBergi who said that he was more than happy to take a sabbatical from his position as a visiting Professor’s Assistant at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts to once again document Spinal Tap to ensure their place in the pantheon of Rock and Roll,” said Reiner in a statement.

]]>The film’s official synopsis describes it as “a triptych fable” following three characters – a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life, a policeman who is alarmed after his wife who was missing at sea comes back home, and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
The first trailer for Kinds of Kindness doesn’t reveal too much about the film’s plot, but it gives us an idea about its tone and a glimpse of its star-studded cast. In addition to Stone, this film also stars Poor Things’ Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley, plus Hong Chau (The Whale), Joe Alwyn (The Favourite), Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81), and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria).
Lanthimos directed the film and co-wrote the script alongside his frequent collaborator Efthimis Filippou (The Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer). Kinds of Kindness will be released on June 21 via Searchlight Pictures.

]]>House of the Dragon is set nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and it chronicles the beginning of the end of the House Targaryen. They once ruled the Seven Kingdoms with an iron fist, but it all came crashing down after the death of King Viserys, which kicked off a tragic war of succession known as the “Dance of the Dragons”.
Two new trailers tease the clash between the Green and Black Council, two opposing sides of the Targaryen family fighting for the Iron Throne. The “Green” trailer sees Alicent Hightower trying to help her son King Aegon prove to the world he’s one true king. His half-sister Queen Rhaenyra plots her revenge after he stole her rightful place on the Iron Throne in the “Black” trailer.
The show’s second season will star Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. It will feature eight new episodes, set to debut on HBO on June 16.

]]>When Lucasfilm and Disney+ first announced this project, they described it as “a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.”
The Acolyte will take us a century before The Phantom Menace, and it centers on a respected Jedi master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), who must face a former Padawan Mae (Amandla Stenberg), a dangerous warrior from his past. They travel down a dark path, facing forces much more sinister than they ever anticipated.
In addition to Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) and Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) in the lead roles, this Disney+ series will also star Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Dafne Keen (Logan), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Single Drunk Female), and Carrie-Anne Moss (Matrix).
The Acolyte was created for Disney+ by the Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland. The first two episodes of the eight-episode series will premiere on June 4.

]]>Kristen Wiig is a Saturday Night Live veteran, and she’ll return to her old stomping ground on April 6. She’ll join the Five-Timers Club with her upcoming appearance, and the recent six-time Brit Awards winner Raye will hit the stage by her side as a musical guest.
Wiig will soon appear in the Apple TV+ period comedy Palm Royale alongside Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and Leslie Bibb. The series will feature a total of ten episodes, set to debut on March 20 with the first three episodes.
Gosling, who recently stole the show at the Academy Awards with the electrifying performance of “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie, will hit the SNL stage on April 13. This will mark his third time hosting and country superstar Chris Stapleton will join him as the next musical guest.
Gosling’s SNL hosting duty will be a part of the promo for his upcoming film The Fall Guy. This action comedy received positive reviews at SXSW ahead of its theatrical release on May 3, and it will also star Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Stephanie Hsu, and Teresa Palmer.

]]>This Is Spinal Tap 2 kicked off production four decades after the original film came out in 1984, and it will see Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer return to their respective roles from the first film.
The sequel will see Spinal Tap, England’s loudest and most punctual band, reunite for one final concert after a 15-year hiatus. Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Garth Brooks previously agreed to make cameos in this film, and they’ll be joined by Questlove and Trisha Yearwood.
The sequel will also embrace the mocumentary style of the original film, and the director Rob Reiner will be back as the documentarian Martin “Marty” DiBergi.
“I recently spoke to Marty DiBergi who said that he was more than happy to take a sabbatical from his position as a visiting Professor’s Assistant at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts to once again document Spinal Tap to ensure their place in the pantheon of Rock and Roll,” said Reiner in a statement.
