The six-time Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams will star opposite Javier Bardem in the Apple TV+ series inspired by John D. MacDonald’s novel The Executioners.

MacDonald’s book inspired several adaptations in the past, including the 1962 version starring Gregory Peck and Martin Scorsese’s remake led by Robert De Niro and Nick Nolte. Apple TV+ ordered a ten-episode adaptation, with Nick Antosca serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.

This new version will center on happily married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden, who must face the ghosts of their past after Max Cady, a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison. Bardem previously joined the series as Max Cady, while Amy Adams is set to play Anna Bowden.

Cape Fear will mark Adams’ first TV role since the acclaimed HBO mini-series Sharp Objects, which earned her nominations for a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award. She also earned six Oscar nods for her roles in Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter, The Master, American Hustle, and Vice, while also starring in hit films Enchanted, Arrival, and Man of Steel. She’ll next be seen in Taika Waititi’s adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Klara and the Sun.

Netflix Orders “Little House on the Prairie” Reboot Series https://omgcheckitout.com/netflix-orders-little-house-on-the-prairie-reboot-series/ Fri, 31 Jan 2025 06:37:00 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=42643 Little House on the Prairie went down in history as one of the most beloved ’70s shows, and its reboot is on the way half a century later. Netflix ordered a new adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved book series, which hails from showrunner and executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine.

Netflix’s official logline describes the new adaptation as a “part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West.” It will offer a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier, drawing inspiration from Wilder’s semi-autobiographical book series.

Jinny Howe, vice president of drama series at Netflix, said they’re excited to share the enduring themes of hope and optimism with a fresh take on this iconic story. She also promised that Sonnenshine’s “vision threads the needle with an emotional depth that will delight both new and existing fans of this beloved classic.”

Sonnenshine’s previous credits include The Boys and The Vampire Diaries. In addition to serving as the showrunner of this reboot, she’s also coming on board as one of the executive producers alongside Joy Gorman Wettels of Joy Coalition, Trip Friendly for Friendly Family Productions, plus Dana Fox and Susanna Fogel.

Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series Little House on the Prairie produced eight children’s novels and inspired a hit series of the same name, which ran on NBC for nine seasons between 1974 and 1983.

Amy Adams to Star in “Cape Fear” Series Opposite Javier Bardem https://omgcheckitout.com/amy-adams-to-star-in-cape-fear-series-opposite-javier-bardem/ Wed, 12 Feb 2025 06:31:00 +0000 https://omgcheckitout.com/?p=42667 Cape Fear is the latest ’90s classic getting a TV remake, and its cast is shaping up to be as epic as it gets.
