Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of the most exciting new shows coming to Disney+ this year, and the streaming giant is doing a great job building the hype for this series. The new teaser trailer for the adaptation of Rick Riordan’s beloved novel is here, and it gives us a glimpse at Percy Jackson’s first big adventure.
This highly-anticipated fantasy series centers on a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson. While coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers, Percy must embark on a quest to restore order to Olympus after being accused of stealing Zeus’ master lightning bolt.
The series stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries and Glover Underwood as his besties Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri. Several guest stars will pop up throughout the series, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Virginia Kull, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Glynn Turman, and the late Lance Reddick.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is being billed as a faithful adaptation of Rick Riordan’s book series of the same name, and he’s involved as its co-writer and executive producer. The first season will feature a total of eight episodes, set to premiere on Disney+ on December 20.
