After being in an on-and-off relationship for several years, actress Meg Ryan and musician John Mellencamp got back together in 2017, and it looks like they mean business this time. Rumors about the couple wanting to make it official, which started circling a few weeks ago, turned out to be true, with Ryan recently confirming her engagement to Mellencamp via social media.
The Sleepless in Seattle actress shared a cute drawing of herself and “Jack & Diane” singer-songwriter on Instagram, writing “ENGAGED!” in the caption.
Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp started dating back in 2011, before breaking up in August 2014. The couple cited distance as the reason at the time since Ryan lived in New York City while Mellencamp was residing in Indiana. The two quickly overcome the distance and got back together just months after their breakup,
They decided to part ways in March 2015 once again, and it seemed that there is no more reconciliation between Ryan and Mellencamp after that, but here they are ready to walk down the aisle.
Ryan has taken a break from acting in recent years, with her last project being 2016’s drama Ithaca, which she directed and starred in. Mellencamp is currently working on an album of covers titled Other People’s Stuff, which is set for release on December 7, 2018.
