]]>We finally know what to expect from this highly-anticipated movie, since the first trailer is finally here.
According to the official logline, the second chapter of this terrifying story will see the members of the Abbott family facing the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence, only to realize that the creatures that hunt by sound aren’t the only threat.
The new trailer sees Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe returning to their respective roles from the first movie, and they’re joined by two new cast members. Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) will join them as mysterious survivors, but the trailer doesn’t reveal if they’re enemies or friends.
A Quiet Place: Part II is set to premiere on March 20th, with John Krasinski returning to direct.

]]>Variety will honor the 35-year-old actress with the Creative Impact Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. She will be honored on Friday, January 4 as part of Variety’s annual brunch with the festival, which runs January 3-14.
Blunt has had a big year starring in A Quiet Place and Mary Poppins Returns. She has landed SAG nominations for both roles and a Golden Globe nomination for the latter.
“No actor has had a bigger year than Emily Blunt in 2018,” said Variety co-editor-in-chief, Claudia Eller. “From playing a mother fighting to save her family’s life in A Quiet Place to tackling one of cinema’s iconic characters in the musical Mary Poppins Returns, Emily Blunt has proven to be a versatile and commanding actress who can cross genres easily and with great success.”
Previous recipients of the annual award include Daniel Kaluuya, Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, and Steve Carell.

]]>Krasinski recently made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shared some unknown details about the film, including the fact that he played both the lead character Lee Abbott and the monsters his character was trying to escape from.
“Nobody knows it because I’ve kept it quiet,” said the 38-year-old actor turned director.
While the movie was in production, Krasinski was working closely with the visual effects team in order to get the look and the movements of the monsters right. At one point, he decided to demonstrate the way these monsters would behave.
“The amazing people at [Industrial Light and Magic] asked, ‘So how does the creature move?’ and I said, ‘Well, this is how I think he’s gonna crawl,'” Krasinski shared. “And they said, ‘Well, why don’t you throw on the suit?’ And I was like, ‘Totally!'”
Besides revealing his secret cameo, Krasinski also talked about the challenges of directing his wife, Emily Blunt, who played one of the lead roles in the movie with him.

Since its release, A Quiet Place went on to become a huge box office hit, earning $334.5 million compared to $17 million budget while critics described it as “smart, wickedly frightening good time.” Encouraged by this success, Paramount studio began working on a sequel which is scheduled for release on May 15, 2020.
