Animals was written for Netflix by Connor McIntyre, while Billy Ray did script revisions. Netflix didn’t reveal much about the plot, but we know it will be a tense thriller, in the vein of Affleck’s previous films The Town and Argo, and it will revolve around a kidnapping.

Damon and Affleck have been friends for decades and they collaborated on several occasions after getting their big break with Good Will Hunting, which won them an Oscar for the best original screenplay. Animals will be the latest film produced through their independent film company Artists Equity, which they launched in 2022.

Animals will mark the second film directed by Affleck starring Damon in the lead role after Air, which cemented their status as one of Hollywood’s best duos.

“It felt really natural because we’ve worked together before. We’ve written together, and we’ve been acting together since 1986… To nobody’s surprise—he’s a brilliant director. He’s just absolutely great, and I can’t wait to do it again,” Damon told Vanity Fair.

She shared the details about the wedding in her “On the JLo” newsletter, sent out to her fans one day later. She said that they read their vows “in a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet” – and that it was exactly what they wanted.

“When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving, and good to one another. We had that. And so much more. Best night of our lives” wrote the singer in her newsletter.

The film from director Ridley Scott is an epic tale of betrayal and justice, told from three points of view — two knights whose bond is tested and a young woman, who’s forced to navigate the brutal and oppressive culture of the era in order to survive.

Driver is set to star as one of the knights opposite Matt Damon. Starring as the young woman is the Killing Eve actress Jodie Comer.

Scott is directing from a screenplay adaptation by Damon and Ben Affleck with Nicole Holofcener. 

Should the period drama get the green light from Disney and Fox, The Last Duel should begin production in early 2020.

 The 46-year-old actor will also star in the true-life War World II story based on the book The Ghost Army of World War II by Rick Beyer and Elizabeth Sayles, as well as the documentary of the same name. 

The story follows a squadron of recruits who were tasked with deceiving the Nazis in creative ways to make them think that the US had larger troop numbers than it actually did, or that armies were in certain positions when in actuality no armies were even close. Armed with inflatable tanks and sound-effects records, their deceptions saved countless lives.

True Detective creator, Nic Pizzolatto, penned the latest version, a rework of the first draft by Henry Gayden (Shazam!). According to Variety, Affleck is expected to rework the screenplay once more. 

Affleck is also set to produce via his Pearl Street Films alongside Andrew Lazar for his Mad Chance Productions. 

The news was confirmed by the studio Tuesday.

The colorful phoenix was first photographed in December of the same year, but then the actor said that is was “fake for a movie.” In February of the following year, Jennifer Garner, responded to rumors of a giant tattoo donning her estranged husband’s back saying to Vanity Fair, “You know what we would say in my hometown about that? ‘Bless his heart,” she joked. “A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario?” The Phoenix saga didn’t end there. The 45-year-old actor admitted to having “a lot of tattoos” but he has them in places that can’t be seen since they’re “private.”

Finally, the mystery tale of the mystic creature was settled, proving that his ink is in fact permanent.

Fans finally find out why everyone’s favorite celebrity BFFs didn’t spend Thanksgiving together.

Affleck planned on spending Thanksgiving with Damon and his family who live just down the street in a Los Angeles neighborhood. But it was Damon who bailed on his BFF, when he made plans for Thanksgiving with his family in Boston rather with the Batman star.

Damon tells E! that it wasn’t Affleck’s fault the two spent the day apart saying, “It is not his fault he didn’t spend Thanksgiving with me. It’s my fault that I left. I was in another state.”

Looks like spending X-mas together is also a challenge as Damon is the one with the unconfirmed holiday plans. “I try not see him as much as possible,” he teased, adding, “We may in-fact be in the same area code during Christmas. I try to crash his parties whenever I can, highfalutin affair.”

The two still gush about each other and their friendship, even after 30 years, with Damon describing Matt as “an amazing guy.”

Garner, who also served as the film’s executive producer, plays a woman betrayed by her husband. Having no trouble filling her role as executive producer, she told ET at the Hamptons International Film Festival on Friday that portraying a single mom was “its own bear to get through.”

The actress who filed for divorce from her husband Ben Affleck in April spoke of what it was like to play an on-screen character who goes through a break-up, like she went through off-screen.

“Anytime that you’re playing someone who is going through something, you have to just figure it out, and you actually – believe it or  not – don’t use your own life as much as you might think,” said the actress.”You just get into that place. That’s your job, and then you shake it off, because you have to go home and raise your kids,” she explained. “It’s just like any other time I do a scene with an emotional place.”

While the 45-year-old actress played down the effort it took to film emotional scenes like the one where her character finds out her husband is cheating on her, director Emmett Malloy told ET that during that scene in particular she really “went for it.”
