]]>Members of BTS recently came together for the first time in six months and performed a free concert in Busan to support South Korea’s bid to host the World Expo in 2030. Shortly after this event, their agency Big Hit Music announced all seven members of the K-pop group are set to complete their mandatory military terms, starting with Jin.
“Members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans. Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment,” reads the statement by Big Hit Music.
Jin will enlist after releasing his debut solo album and wrapping up promotional events for this record in late October. He’s the second BTS member to drop a solo album, following the release of J-Hope’s Jack in the Box earlier this summer. The rest of the group’s members are yet to announce their plans for the future, but Big Hit Music’s statement claims they’re “beyond proud that they will each now have time to explore their unique interests.”

“Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)” is the K-pop group’s first Korean-language single since “Life Goes On” in 2020 and it serves as the lead single on their first anthology album Proof. This record features both the official and demo records of the band’s hit songs, including “Dynamite”, “Butter”, and “Boy in Luv”.
Proof hit the shelves on June 10, and the group’s official statement describes it as “an anthology album that embodies the history of BTS” and “reflects the thoughts and ideas of the members on the past, present, and future of BTS”. It features three new songs, including “Yet to Come”, “Run BTS”, and “For Youth”.

]]>According to Forbes, the retro music video for this Queen-inspired tune attracted 112.855 million views in its first 24 hours alone, breaking YouTube’s debut record. It also had the biggest music video premiere on YouTube, with approximately 3.9 million concurrent viewers tuning in to watch.
BTS recently discussed their latest record-breaking single with Billboard. RM said that “Butter” is all about positive vibes and explained how it compares to “Dynamite”.
“While ‘Dynamite’ was an upbeat, kind of like a disco-pop [track] that we tried to give hope to global listeners in the middle of the pandemic, ‘Butter,’ you know, it’s summer. It’s also a more upbeat, fresh dance-pop track, like more like a summer anthem,” said RM.
“Butter” follows BTS’s previous song “Film Out” as their second single of 2021, but it’s not the only project they’ve been teasing recently. The K-pop group also announced their Japanese-language compilation album BTS, the Best, scheduled to be released on June 16th.

]]>Like the rest of The Weeknd’s discography, After Hours is the perfect mix of pop and R&B and it’s going to be the first album that we remember when we look back on 2020 in the future.
Taylor Swift’s surprise albums Folklore and Evermore are tough to place in a single genre because they walk the fine line between folk-pop and alternative rock—and that’s exactly their charm.
Dua Lipa served some major disco-pop vibes on her career-defining album Future Nostalgia, and almost every song from this album became an instant hit that we couldn’t help but listen to on repeat.
Lady Gaga’s long-awaited sixth studio album finally hit the shelves this year, and it was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.
BTS set many major records in 2020 and proved themselves as A force to be reckoned with. Be was their second no. 1 album of the year, and it produced the chart-topping singles “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On”.

]]>The K-pop group has announced that their latest album BE (Deluxe Edition) will be released on November 20.
BTS has been sharing moments leading up to the album’s creation on their YouTube channel BangtanTV.
“The new album imparts a message of healing to the world by declaring, ‘Even in the face of this new normality, our life goes on,’” reads the official announcement.
“For this album in particular, the septet took a step further and was involved not only in the music making process, but also in the overall production: concept, composition, design, etc… [it] reflects the thoughts, emotions and deepest ruminations of BTS while working on the album. This new project offers an even richer musical spectrum experience as well as the most ‘BTS-ish’ music yet,” the statement adds.
This week, BTS is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon from September 28 to October 2. They’ll also be holding their online concert BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E on October 10 and 11.

BTS reached no. 1 in the US for the first time when their previous studio album Love Yourself: Tear hit the shelves in 2018. Their compilation album Love Yourself: Answer and EP Map of the Soul: Persona repeated its success.
The triumph of their latest album can’t be overlooked, and not only because it marks their fourth album at no. 1. Map of the Soul: 7 also had the highest opening for an album in 2020 thus far, with 422,000 album-equivalent units earned in the first week on the chart.
